don't see whats funny?

one day i was in woodwork class and the teacher said the reason the room has no chairs is it improvers your work to stand up.

during the day i had a massive pain in my spine and sat on the ground, then the entire class starts laughing, i look and they are pointing at me saying he is sitting on the ground.

i still don't see what was funny.

it's probably some macho thing. Also probably more of a way you work on wood. The angle you approach your work, using upper muscles, etc., means you do a lot of work standing up. Look at construction workers, lathe workers, machine shop, etc. They're all standing up while they work.

It's probably 'undignified' to sit on the floor (especially in shop, you could get a splinter in your &^%). That's my guess.

They were teasing you...simple as that

NT people don't always make sense. Then again, i guess we don't always make sense either.

so you're in secondary school right? (high school)

kids tease other kids. if you sat down in the middle of a lecture when everyone else was standing up you're drawing attention to yourself and that makes you an easy person to tease. if your back hurts then just say so if someone asks you why you're sitting down. simple as that. there's not much you can do about the teasing though. just realize that its a normal thing, to tease and be teased when you're a kid.

Maybe they weren't laughing to tease you, but were just laughing because you defied the teacher by sitting. They may find that funny.

when they take the test and have nothing to write on and they look at will smith like he's rude or out of line for pulling up the table

sounds like you're the only one to realize that even though there is no chairs, the ground is still readily available for sitting

they laugh now, but i bet more people will start sitting on the ground
