3rd grader aspie kid with problems at school

guys, this is from a father of an aspie kid in Slovakia, he wrote me this (my translation), but I am not really able to relate, please, help him with your comments:

He is able to go to the school without his back and when he realizes it later, he gets upset a lot. He doesn't realize that it's important to get new books ready for the next day. When I asked him whether he made some marks, he says: "I don't know.". When he knows and I ask him what subject is the
mark from, he says: "I don't know.". When he makes a bad mark and I ask him about that, he is like he doesn't care about making a bad one, he doesn't understand that he should be making the good ones, he doesn't know the fear of a bad mark.

Not sure what help he needs but from what I can understand from my own experiences...
His child has problems in school that aren't related to the topic, but rather to something else. Having worked with younger kids with ASD, I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't simply the child having a "bad" day. Bad things can happen that are totally unrelated to school, which can have a major impact on his child's ability to even do simple things throughout the day that they would otherwise have no problem accomplishing. Some of this can come from difficulties in dealing with other people socially. At least for myself, the social aspect was always a major drain on me, even into high school.
School will continue to be more difficult, having an aide there with him will definitely be helpful, but some kids need more support to understand and make it in the structured setting of a school. It can take time to pick up the "expectations", and perform well. I have my parents, and good school to thank for pushing me along. I don't think I could have gotten to where I am without a lot of support.
The rest is really difficult to interpret, there is a lot that depends on the kids ability to learn. A lot of the "mistakes" seems similar to behaviors I went through as a child, forgetting things, getting angry at myself for failures, etc. but I would guess beyond the mistakes, the child is just having difficulty learning the school work.
