No, I make quite enough holes in myself by accident without doing it on purpose too!

No - too prone to soft tissue infections. Same reason I have no tattoos.

I had two in my left ear back in 1996. But they never healed. Apparently I needed non-reactive studs at firstuntil they healed. I've never had them done again since.

Yes. 5 on both ears from standard lobe to lower helix. I also have a few facial piercings and a navel piercing.

I had one ear pierced years ago, but haven't used anything to that effect in many years, and so the skin has healed mostly now.

Nope.
I have a very low pain threshold and tolerance.

Plus I'm one of the few alternative people without any piercings and tattoos.

I prefer my body to look natural.

No, I do not have pierced ears. Where I grew up(and probably other places too) there was this bizarre(and stupid) that belief if a guy got his right ear pieced he was gay or something so I never wanted it done as a kid but I never had a taste for jewelry or showing off either.

I only have my left ear pierced, done in my second year at uni.

It wasn't until I started punching eartags into alpaca ears that I found males have their tags on the left ear and females the right.

An eartag is a strip of brass about 1mm x 5mm X 30mm folded into an oval.

The punch is like a pair of pliers that pushes one end (1mm x 5mm) through the skin like a ticket punch, that folds the loop closed.
I am always amazed how little pain the animals seem to feel during this process, but one has to take care not to nick the large vein running through the centre.

I saved myself a tag with a cool registration number but I've never had the guts to punch myself.

OH hell no.

Cartilages don't heal, ever, and... well.... it turns out that ears are mostly cartilage and skin, with a bit of fat. They do not heal since they are not perfused with oxygen, due to them not having any blood vessels.

They must be rigid, yet flexible at the same time. Having vessels through them would make them very prone to bleeding as even moderate pressure could shear off the vascular walls. The same way that buried water pipes explode and have to be replaced after a major earthquake.

And, much like the previous poster, I also don't have the guts to punch myself.
