Where and how do I get new qualifications and training paid for?

I cannot afford anything myself or mathematically speaking afford anything in the longer term.

I have 4 A-levels (AAAB) and a degree (2:1) but they are useless. I need to go in a different area, different subjects, different range of skills.

Graduate training schemes are too difficult to get on, they would screen out Aspies anyway and I have graduated too long ago to be legible.

There is no funding for postgraduate qualifications. That would be my first, ideal choice, if available, but there is no funding. Nothing.

Apprenticeships, or chav-prenticeships as they should be called, are like level 1 and 2 qualifications, for school leavers who can barely read, don't want graduates and pay far less than the minimum wage.

What can I do? I need to get new training and RECOGNISED qualifications in a new type of skill set.

I don't really know what's available as the laws regarding this seem to keep changing all the time. However I do know that if you stay unemployed or on disability for a period of time (it used to be 6 months) the government will put their all into helping you back into work including help with training. I could be wrong but I'm sure this will still be the case. If anyone knows more detail of what's available currently I too would be interested to find out.

What was your previous area and why are you leaving?

You could give being a computer tech a go, you just need A+, N+ and the MCDST.

What do you want to go into? this seems to be a general question and training and qualifying is an industry specific kind of issue.

You have all my sympathy. I particularly know that sinking feeling when the employer starts talking about group exercises and role play. We cannot do those, but we can be very good, even exceptional, at our jobs.

You seem to have more than enough qualifications for many jobs. Have you mined your contacts? Have you REALLY mined them? An introduction from a friend could be your best avenue. Once you're settled in a job you could consider obtaining qualifications to further your career.
