How to find job for cash in US?

I have the same problem as the OP, I need to find a job but it doesn't have to be cash as I have a green card. But I'm really lost as to how to find a job. I'm in Austin and will be attending UT next year.

Then it's much easier. Do you have any degree, or skills, or experience? Use it. You could find companies and send resume via sites like monster.com (one of the largest job sites, in US and worldwide).
And if you have friends - tell them you're looking for a job, maybe they can help, I read that more than half jobs in US are found by personal contacts - friends, business partners, relatives etc.

Well, it looks like I got a job passing out fliers for a Thai restaurant. I get 150 dollars for 1000 fliers (it takes 15 hours to do it)

Congradulations, man! Not the best but at least $10/hour, better than significant amount of jobs.
I should ask some points - maybe it'll be useful for me as well in autumn. How did you found it - by website, or came to restaurant and asked? You get payment by check or by cash?

There are lots of job options which can you do without violating the visa rule. For example you can teach the students personally or in any coaching center. In this way you can earn some money for your future college fee.

What are coaching centers? I'm not so familiar in this topic.

My best guess at what a "coaching center" is would be a tutoring business. Is it a type of business that someone with a student visa is allowed to work at under US immigration/work rules? If so, it makes sense that he'd suggest that.

I think student visa holders are allowed to get employment authorization. I'm not sure what the rules are on that but I think you're allowed a limited amount of work during school term. But the visa itself doesn't authorize work, you need to get a separate employment authorization from the USCIS.

As for other cash jobs.. construction/demolition/junk removal/landscaping/cleaning/painting/pressure washing/driveway sealing etc all typically have a lot of small business people operating on a cash only basis. It shouldn't be hard to find work in any of these industries via craigslist.

Another to keep on the lookout for is working in a small independently owned restaurant.. washing dishes, bussing tables, heck even cooking or serving - you might find someone willing & able to pay cash under the table.

Just be careful there because sometimes the USICE will do raids there (especially if a competitor reports them for having "illegal aliens" working there). You really don't want to get deported for violating your visa condition.

In theory you can have work permit by USCIS, in fact no. In mid-2000's it was much more easy but now you in general can only work on campus if you ever find paid job there and compete with dozens of other students.
