Then I suggest you find out for youself. Look at the history of the United Auto Workers and the current state of the American automobile industry. Look at the history of the Garment Workers' Unions and the current state of the American garment industry. Look at the history of the Steel Workers' Unions and the current state of the American steel industry.

Then draw your own conclusions.
