This is something I've heard before, all from male friends who have had bad luck with women. It's as if they have to find a reason for women saying "No", so they pick a materialistic one as the most obvious, rather than looking at the connection between themselves and the woman.
I'm not saying there aren't women out there who wish to 'pad their nest' - one of my best friend's criteria for dating her husband was to make sure he could provide a good home for her and her children.
However, assuming all women do this is a fallacy.
I have no money, no job, am obese, have AS & attendant Depression, am average looking and extremely shy. My BF is charismatic, interesting, attractive, extremely poor, homeless and disagrees with me on virtually everything
. We've been together for 2+ years and see no end in sight. Basically, he shouldn't be interested in me, but somehow we fit perfectly and are extremely happy just spending time on the sofa watching films together. Money would mean a load of unnessessary stuff, whereas now, we simply have Love.
I could hint to my unattached male friends the reasons I think women are turning them down. For example, one of them is 41 and keeps asking out 20 year olds. He has grey hair, an unnattractive beard, lives with his parents, no job, less money, has Depression, is extremely self obsessed, is determined to hold onto his youth and holds grudges. Do you think a 20 year old girl would want to get involved in that? She's young, she's free, the world is her oyster and she is lusted after by most men who see her. Why would she pick my friend?
Another example is a 2nd friend, who is a lovely guy, but obsessed with conspiracy theories, lives with his parents, is unemployed and spends 23 hours a day in his bedroom playing computer games. I'd date him in a second, but I know his social skills aren't brilliant when faced with women, and I can't remember him ever having a girlfriend.
Basically, a girl will go out with you - if she likes you. Money is an extremely cold bedmate, and women absolutely believe in Love. Why do you think so many women read romance novels or have cats? The best man in the world is one who will ask out a lonely spinster (of which there are many), draw her out, love her cats, read her soppy books to her and try to emulate them in the relationship. He will comfort her, encourage her, treat her like she is the most precious treasure in the world and the only person who can make him whole. That is what women want - not money.
You need to look at the women you have been approaching and ask yourself if they are really appropriate for you - or just present a socially acceptable image.
You need to look at yourself and ask yourself how these women truly see you - as a hero who has come to rescue them from a harsh and unloving world, or a bitter, money obsessed guy who doesn't listen to them.
Women are human too, you know
.
