Experience is really not that critical unless you want one of the unionized, 20 bucks an hour cleaner jobs. If you can only do part time, you can only do part time. It's not like full time is even easy to find these days. Work kind of sucks, but then again, if you think about it, what doesn't? Most of the course of a day pretty much sucks, no matter what you do. May as well get paid for the suckitude, so you can have a little money to enjoy the times that don't completely suck, instead of them sucking too.
Between part time and benefits, or other types of supplemental income, it's definately possible to survive without working full time. Pretty hard to do if you're renting alone, mind you. But you have a social network so make use of it. At your age, probably people you know will find themselves in the same boat often.
Well yeah cleaning wouldn't be too bad...though I think I am going to start with the head shops and record stores, apparently from what I gather form the internet and asking at a record store today they accept resumes even when not actively hiring so I have to type one of those out...and I'll just have to go out one day or maybe a couple days and hit all the head shops and record stores I can find.
But yeah then other then that cleaning, house sitting, pet sitting, animal shelters, green houses/gardening center type places are some of my other ideas...only thing with the pet sitting/house sitting is lack of transportation which I could see as a potential problem. I take the bus and can get rides but depending on where the house is that could be difficult.
Also what do you mean I have a social network? I don't know anyone in any sort of position to help me with finding a job or anything. I don't have any of these social network connections so to speak.

You'd fit right in, I think. That's getting into jobs you're actually suited for/interested in, I've never had one of those! It is retail I guess but it seems more laid back, they're not exactly "service with a smile" sort of places, I think you're supposed to look a little po'd most of the time because the people working in those places always seem to.
I bet they do accept resumes all the time ... I can't imagine it's easy for them to find suitable employees. There are probably lots of people who want to work there but they have to walk a fine line between people who are too cleancut and responsible, and people who aren't reliable at all. I wouldn't mention AS or any other sort of thing that might make them think you might not show up for work sometimes, or be late, or call in sick a lot. They probably look for people who can be a bit assertive too, to deal with problem customers and thieves. I imagine that's why they look po'd all the time, probably cuts down on incidents.

Nonono, I mean you know twentysomethings. I don't want to be too explicit about what sorts of supplemental income from retail or agricultural practices that could entail, since we're not on the adult forum, but I'm pretty sure you know what I mean. If you're not disciplined it's not a good option but if you are, you can probably make enough on the side to bring you up to the equivalent of full time pay. It can be socially demanding though. You might find yourself around people at home and at work all the time ... but if it's already going to be like that anyway ...

Yeah I wouldn't really see any reason to mention it, unless there was good reason to...but for applying I wouldn't. I am not all that assertive really, but there are ways to more or less compensate for that. But apparently I can come off as threatening or something, its been implied to me by others more than once, not sure how because I am probably more nervous around people then they would be around me but I suppose it would help with putting on a more assertive than I am act if I needed to.
