I still havent made my descision on what i want to do job wise, but i have some ideas, however i am terrified of my well-being and being on my own, how does a person with AS, Anxiety, and Social phobia get over the troubles of traveling ( like to different countries ). I mean i have a serious want to learn new cultures and explorer the world but i dont know how to learn to go about outside. I do go out side but i end up having anxiety attacks even with my parents, there must be a way to bypass this problem?

depends on what triggers your phobia/anxiety. crowds? people talking to you (or you having to talk to them)?

Jobs I can think of that gets you to travel:

corporate/company travel jobs are almost 100% based on socialization. After all, you're traveling because the company has to send a person rather than do whatever it is over the phone or email. The only reason to send anyone overseas is to talk to other people.

Navy - even as an assistant cook on a ship will give you the chance to see places. downside is lots of yelling, pressure and yes, people talking to you.

Merchant Marine - perhaps the only travel-heavy, socializing-light job there is. Working on a merchant ship means small crew (usually just 10) , huge ship, everyone too busy the whole day to chat it up...and it pays very well.

travel agent - I'm a travel agent.. and while I dont like doing sales there are support positions in travel agencies where you only talk to people on the phone to get issues resolved (payments/reservations). Downside is that depending on the company you may end up on the phone doing sales and thats horrible. You dont get to travel much on the company pocket but you do get to learn how to travel. That means that while someone else can spend 2,000 bucks on a trip you spend only 600 to be in the same place, in a similar hotel, for just as long.

I have an aspie friend with the same anxiety problems as you and we haven't really come up with a solution yet... not sure what advise I can give except maybe push yourself to do things you think can't do...
He also wanted to travel and we managed to go all the way to France in the end. It was quite an accomplicement since he hadn't even been outside the country before that.
And even though it was difficult at times he thought it was worth it in the end just for the experience (and the food heh)

As for what travelling jobs.
I have always wanted to have a job where I could travel as well and the only ones I could think of (that don't require that much social skills) was merchant marine and drug trafficer :?

Obviously drug trafficer is not the best idea and merchant marine is almost impossible to get without skills (unless you know someone who is prepared to help you...)

In the end I just took any crappy job, saved some money, quit the job and travelled. I have become an expert in getting crappy jobs (it's actually not that easy but there are a few tricks) and travelling without much money... :P

Another idea is to get an international-type job where you can work in different countries as a freelancer or short term contracts. That is what I'm trying to do now working as a CG artist but it hasn't worked out that well yet (no experience, no social skills (=no contacts) and not a big enough interest in computer games).

I might give merchant marine another chance.
