As none of you know ^_^, I have taken a summer internship at the engineering firm where my uncle is president and CEO, in the IT department. This is truly the first time I have been on my own and so far, I have been hanging the ropes of doing everything by myself-even getting groceries and cooking dinner. Any advice, work and non-work?

(Usually I don't post my location, but first, New York City is quite broad in some respects and second, there is a certain mentality when it comes to working in the city).

Congratulations.
I'm interning in the city too. This is my third year. It's a lot of fun. The only advice I have is to watch out for the bicyclists because they don't pay attention to traffic or pedestrians and don't bring cheerios to work because when they invariably end up on the floor it's always awkward to explain and makes a huge mess. Also, seriously, take advantage of the people you meet while you're interning. They make it so you can get jobs later, especially if they're impressed with you.

Thanks! That's what I'm aiming for. So far I've learned quite a bit.
