I am 43 and have worked most of my life in menial night shift jobs where i am not around others. My most recent i held for nearly 6 years and was comfortable there until i was fired 2 days ago.
Although i finished high school and qualified to get into university, i was unable to cope with the social aspect and dropped out after a few weeks. I want to improve myself and get some form of education perhaps in computers, which is my interest.
Are there any other forum members with extreme social anxiety and AS that have managed to complete higher education, how did you do it, what strategies did you use to cope.
Also, what careers would allow me to work without being in a team environment where i would be stressed continuously.

I am just an NT mother, and have no experience, but I've been wondering about computer forensics. You might want to look into that....

I'm going to graduate in less than a month, next year I'm studying design. That's one uni degree and the next one is a tafe degree. I plan to go back to the first uni when I have finished the tafe degree to get a master of fine arts. The funny thing is I get major anxiety when I go back after a holiday or break for no reason whatsoever. Right now is one of the most stressful times of the year for everyone but I'm not freaking out at all, no anxiety at all. I think it has something to do with having a stable routine.....
