Are there any other Aspies out there who work in the maritime field? This month I'm shipping out as a cadet for the first time aboard an LNG tanker. This is my first commercial shipping assignment, and I'm relatively unfamiliar with the social environment aboard ship.

That's sounds fascinating. I looked into that for a while but couldn't get into it. Just applying to apprenticeships but didn't hear back.

Are you doing Inland River work or going out into the ocean?

It seems like most people should figure out how to get along if they're going to be stuck with each other for long periods. Also I think some companies try to evaluate personalities on hiring. Not so much for socializing exactly but they don't want mischievous rowdy people on their ships.
