funny interviews
Does any of you have a funny story from an interview?
Here are some of my funny and strange interview scenarios.
1) the electricity went out during a thunderstorm, but since they were so delayed with their technology and tight on their timeline, we interviewed in a three quarters dark room. (passed the interview round, but the job was canceled due to funding cuts)
2) arriving at a 'child' oriented interview sporting a 'Curious George' portfolio and puppets, to be told that the child portion of the job had been removed, and I would be assisting seniors.
3) there had been a vandalism at the beginning, so the police call during the interview to discuss finances, security and thefts.
4) I am expected to lead the interview questions at my own interview. Yeah, that was not fun.
5) being asked to recommend a book when I had read none recently... so it ended up devolving into the fact that I had read an ice cream book the morning of, and I ended up going on and on about my favorite flavours. (got the job by fluke)
6) chicken dancing with my interviewer as part of a demonstration (I got the job on one occasion and was asked for references with the intent on hiring me after another interview.)
7) quacking the song 'Born to Be Wild' like a duck... required by a picture book I had to read...
being told that my weakness once was not 'bad enough' because I had used the old perfectionist line.
9) being told in the middle of an interview... 'you aren't what we were looking for as you are in second year and we were keen on first years' and asked 'how were you ever selected for the interview'? Yeah. Like I would know!
