If you can handle one on one social interaction you may try your hand at being a tutor.

Well I'm not especially competent at anything so I don't know about that I can handle things with lots of ppl I just cant seem to feel comfortible in new places so much so that I avoid nearly all new things.

Get a job at the grocery store or hardware store putting stuff on the shelves at night. A lots of stores have computer kiosks for applications. Very little human interaction...

don't be afraid. don't even think about what might go wrong or what you might not be able to handle. even with interacting with customers. f**k it, honestly.

that's how i've been working part-time like you want to work, selline wine in a wine-shop for over a year. it's a shop that only accepts the most qualified people as their employees. i don't know how it thappened that i got accepted :D
even more of a mystery is how i've managed to stay there

but really, just stop caring, apply and see what happens.

well if you get to sample wine all day long.. just like working in a pizza place gets you free pizza...

heck id probably retire from such a job ;)

kingofkaboom: most colleges allow tutors and their student to use the private meeting rooms in the library for the study sessions. its a very quiet environment. Most colleges only require you to have B (80%) grade in a subject before you're allowed to tutor it. And you can only tutor people in classes you already took so its not like you're learning the stuff and teaching it to them at the same time.

You may think you're not good at something but here's the kicker: the point is you teaching someone that is doing horrible in that subject.

When I was a tutor I found it ironic that I, a foreigner, was tutoring US born and raised students... on English 101 and English Composition. Also tutored astronomy, computers (word, excel, windows) and history.

The more things you can tutor the better your job will be as you are paid only by the work hour and you need to be tutoring students to count as work hours.. so the more subjects you can tutor the more students you'll have the more money you'll make.

its also a great way to meet people. :)

Yeah I have to agree with abram. The only way I can do things in life is to have that f**k it attitude. I have this thing I say to myself when my brain gets nervous about something like applying for a job or a job interview. I just take a deep breath and say to myself "Oh well just DO it" and don't think about it anymore, I just Do it. It helps me. Also if I'm supposed to do something that I might chicken out of because I'm scared to talk to someone, I ask myself if I will be disappointed in myself for not doing it tonight after the chance is gone. If the answer is yes, then "oh well just DO it". Good luck and f**k it just live your life!

That's good. Buzzed employees can be a problem ;)

KingofKaboom: I forgot to add ... since many colleges have adult improvement courses you can tutor things like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Windows and other 'simple' stuff to 'older' people.

You will find teaching these people to be very relaxing as it is not your age group & you have no social expectations other than not curse them out.. and it makes you money.
