Awesome! It's fantastic that your child, at his young age, is learning to identify what causes him discomfort, and speak up for himself. So many of us grew up not knowing what was wrong with us or how to help ourselves; he has an unbelievably great start.

You must be doing a wonderful job parenting :)

It isn't easy standing up for yourself as a kid, that was awesome!! !

I recall seats being moved a lot when I was in school. One time I complained about the seating arrangements to my third grade teacher (I suppose I must have been about 8 or 9) because I was sitting in front of a kid who liked to put things in my hair and mess with me. The teacher ended up moving my desk to the very front of the classroom, smack up against the chalk board - behind her desk even! - for the REST OF THE YEAR. And by the way, chalk/chalkboards/chalk dust are HUGE sensory issues for me. That's when I started hating school and not wanting to go.

Thank goodness, with diagnoses and supportive parents, kids with AS, Autism and PDDs don't have the same experiences I did 20 years ago. I feel really happy for and proud of your kiddo!

Excellent! I can only hope that my son is able to let people know when he's uncomfortable like that.
