It's the 'boy' thing I worry about. She has more boys as friends than girls - which I think is pretty good - she seems to have more in common with them. She's not into the teen idols and crushing on a different boy every other day. She's not into fashion (except her own personal style - I think she time warped in from the 60's or 70's - or Asian depending upon what day it is) - she's almost a prude - not almost - she is. She plays violin in the orchestra but loves to play guitar, likes Chemistry class - so she has more to talk about with boys at this point.

She doesn't seem all that interested in boys - but I know that is going to change. That's going to be hard to deal with.

I think it is a good thing that your dd has friends that are boys. I think healthy relationships can really develop out of friendship and shared interests!

My dd has expressed an interest in boys, but says she doesn't know how to be friends with them, and they make her nervous. She wonders why the other girls seem to know how to "talk to boys" but she doesn't. She is also very prudish, which I am OK with at this point! Like your girl, she isn't "crushing" on any movie stars or singers...no posters of teen idols in the bedroom yet!

I'm sure the day will come when our dd's are interested in boys and then we will enter a whole new phase of parenting!! !
