i find with my nt children i can easily mend their problems or distract them from a tantrum with an offering of a chocolate egg or a freezie. while this will occasionally work on my asd children that is not the norm. i also find my nt children give up on whatever was upsetting them most times after the initial distraction where the asd ones will keep going back to it. that's just my own personal observation though, it may not fit everyones situation.

Oh that is sooo true, little aspies (big aspies too) keep going back to the upsetting thing. I know this little aspie that would point at things and then mumble out a string of words, like telling a story, of the event he had that upset him and return to it over and over. I never forget my upsetting associations.
