No, there is no LEGITIMATE reason people on the spectrum can't be good parents-- but it's not the first time I've heard of someone saying it or even making it fly. It's pretty widely believed.

I've had medical professionals threaten to get DCFS involved-- not because anything was actually wrong (other than that I had the unmitigated gall to have a panic attack in public) but simply because I disclosed my diagnosis.

Not having a formal diagnosis works in your favor.

Get a good lawyer. Pay whatever you have to. Do whatever they tell you.

Personally, I'd try to press charges against the f*****g whoremaster. That's probably the only thing that's going to shut her up.
