So that was you! 8O

I'm still in therapy, because of that...

(joke)

You can visit my therapy chatroom for that.

For the d00d, I recommend lots of intellectual stimulation and advancement, evil genius children should be developed into good genius adults.

Good for the d00d!
Sorry, but my policy is to support evil genius children.
It's not necessarily so bad to be awful and creepy online to other people who are also being awful and creepy.
The controls won't work if he is motivated, as he is.
Each time he subverts one, he will learn something new for next time.

But what if the OP's child is the one instigating the awful/creepiness....by all means if someone is being awful on the internet nothing wrong with giving them back a little of their own crap, but to go out of your way and be nasty to people on the internet certainly is not a good thing.

Right - this is easy at 7, but when they hit the tweens and teens, there's stuff out there you don't want them hacking into until you know they understand the rules. You don't want your kid turned into an unwitting pawn for the creepy underside of the internet, nor do you want him emptying your bank account because you grounded him for something he doesn't agree with.

That said, I know a number of AS parents who have spawned an evil genius, and I'd say this: you can substitute real-world controls for the hackable ones. Get a lockable cabinet (the security of which depends on how close to Feynman your child is) and put away all the access points to the internet. Put the cabinet in the room where you stay.
