Seeking words of wisdom for a newly diagnosised aspie mom
I used to have things that worked, but the older I get the less effective they are - they usually involve something kind of stimmy: pacing used to be a good thing. Really, really, really loud music (and when I was a kid dancing around the room wildly.) I just don't have the environment or energy to do either now.
Video games sometimes help, believe it or not...anything that takes concentration and timing. Um, gardening, but usually there is not enough gardening to do to keep me calm...has to be something relatively active (video games are physically passive but require active participation.)
But, truthfully, my bag of tricks is running low and in large part that's why I went looking for help.

I'm sorry things aren't working well. I hope you can update as you find tools that do work for you.
