Our 6 year old son did this for about 6 months, but he seems to have stopped now. We just let him do it. He would parrot what other people said to him, or things from the TV. I think it was his way of trying to absorb what others were saying. It could be very annoying sometimes, and his teachers would often complain about it.

I have Echolalia and paliliah or however u spell that haha, its bad sometimes... its defintely not unusual with ASDs.

I do something a bit similar.When I hear music or adverts it gets stuck and repeats in my head for ages.I don't say it out loud though
