You know your child is a precious gift from God. He/She is perfect in God's eyes. Just look at what scripture says:
Psalm 139

13 “For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.”

Listen to God's truth, not the lies of the world. Satan is evil and will often use people we love and trust (like parents) to place doubt in our hearts. You've done nothing wrong to bring about your child's differences. Embrace the truth and pray, pray, pray for those in your life who do not see your baby as God sees him/her--absolutely perfect.

Love in Christ,
Deb

Peace and love, guys lol
Could I ask you to reference this? Where did you read it? It's something I'd be interested in following up on, since I'm researching attitudes to autistics through history. I've not come across this quote, despite my extensive reading in that historical era, so obviously I'm interested in whether it's an "internet rumour", or if there's some truth to it. I do know that he went off the wall towards the end of his life, mainly in antisemitic directions. I was unaware of this.

Thank you, Nephesh. Couldn't remember where I'd seen that.

Thank you for sharing that text. Very informative... sadly those views were extremely prevalent in those days, and I know of people from my grandparents generation who were "passed over the fire" for being "fey"... ie, touched by the faeries.

Luther held some other very unpleasant opinions I'm sorry to say... for example, although he started off his career very pro semitic, by the end of his life he believed the Jews should be exterminated.

Thank God Christianity isn't about Christians, but Christ!

Again, thank you for the article.

As a Believer in Jesus Christ, I almost want to cringe when I hear things like this coming from Christians and a Pastor/Minister/Priests to boot. Clergy have gone to schools run by man and therefore in my opinion often times can offer nothing more then regurgitated theories and religious laws.

With that being said dear sister, all you need to do when hurtful and false comments are made regarding your precious child is to turn to God's word and see what He has to say.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

I hope and pray that your Mom will become educated regarding your child so that she can understand truly what a gift she has been given. GBU & Happy Jesus Day!
