So we saw the counselor today. And I told him that he'd hurt my feelings and he apologized. He said that he never meant to discourage me from finding support where ever possible and that he thinks it's good that I can get information and see how others deal with their situations. His concern had been regarding misinformation and that he was sorry if he only addressed that concern. I'm happy with that.
He also told me that he's hoping to get a charter school opening maybe in January-ish, and he'll know by the end of the summer if he has the full backing of both schools. I couldn't believe it!! ! Someone mentioned that on another thread just today. (Sorry, it was phychohist.) He said it will be geared toward spectrum kids and others with learning disabilities. I can't even tell you how excited I am... A school that is more oriented to my child's needs and the way he learns. I can't even fathom. He was talking about sensory rooms and integrated classrooms of
like 8 students and teaching at a child's ability level. Concrete logic based curriculum streamlined for the Aspie mind.. No more 'be creative" crap for the kids like mine who can't imagine what that means.
I know I shouldn't get my hopes up. Who knows if he will get the approval, but I can't help it.. I feel like I'm bursting from the seams..
