Does anyone know of any? I am starting to suspect that my 11yo high functioning Aspie son needs to find other Aspies if he wants to feel truly accepted. I have not had much luck looking online for Dallas area support groups or meet up groups. There seems to be one for adults and another one run by a clinic - sounds more like they want you to sign up for their services than anything else!

Any links/suggestions for groups would be appreciated.

I plan on showing him this website later today (when he returns from another day of social strain at school) and seeing if he will want to try the online route.

Thanks! :D

there used to be one, but it fell apart. The people running it had a daughter who outgrew the group and moved on. No one took over. I have thought about starting one, but I just don't have the time to do it right. I would be interested in joining if you started a meetup group. :) We live on the Northeast side of Dallas.

BTW... my son is 11 too. He is in a social skills group with three other Aspie boys, and I would be glad to share the information with them if you start a Meetup group.

If you are interested in just getting in touch with another mom in Dallas area, send me a PM. :)
