A great day
First, I was anxious all weekend because I didn't know where today's 9am IEP meeting was to take place for my DS19mos. So, I took a stab at it and showed up early to the agency that manages my son's case, instead of at the Early Intervention site. Lucky for me, I was right! SCORE ONE!
Second, my son's IEP went great! He got approved for all services we asked for: (a) increase from 5 hrs Special Instruction to 15 hrs ABA which we could increase to 20 hrs if we ask for it, (b) increase from 2x/wk Speech Therapy to 4x/wk Speech Therapy, (c) added Occupational Therapy 2x/wk, (d) added Physical Therapy 2x/wk, (e) added Social Worker to talk to me 2x/month for support. I am ecstatic! The lady approving my services I think felt bad for me for having 2 kids on the spectrum, and we bonded over the fact that I have AS because she has a grown daughter who has AS. Of course I wrote down this (WP) website for her daughter to check out, if she hasn't already! SCORE TWO!
Third, my lost earring was found at the dentist office I went to yesterday. I was very sad about it as it was given to me by my deceased father-in-law as a wedding gift. I was certain that I had lost it on the street somewhere and it was gone forever, but I called the office just to cover all bases, and lo and behold! They found it! I sent them a gift basket thanking them! SCORE ONE HUNDRED AND THREE!
Given it has been such a great day, I splurged on Lotto. Let's hope I win something! Keep those lucky vibes coming! LOL ![]()
thats great! Its always wonderful when you get what you ask for at meeting and then some! EI is usually good like that: And doubly great that you found your earring!
good luck with lotto ![]()
