Thanks for all the positivity! I am so happy I could share some good news.

So much is so far from easy, it feels like a real gift to have something go well.

His team in middle school wants a second assessment for comorbids, maybe OCD.

As for the uncle, he has an aggressive personality and a hard time realizing that not everyone shares his perspective. He meant well but entered the situation like a blind brick layer with a trowel stepping in for a neurosurgeon. I suppose it might have been possible to be less skillful, but you would have to concoct a pretty improbable situation.

I tried to tell him how I deal with that sort of encounter: politely acknowledge the thing that they are saying and then just nod and disengage. Eventually they burn out and move on to something else. This looks like a pretty hard discipline from his perspective.
