I met with the psychologist today who is doing my sons evaluation through the school. He wanted to talk to me before completing his report. He said he just started scoring all of the surveys and is leaning towards a spectrum disorder. He said that if that is the diagnosis that he wants to bring the school in and go over the surveys with them. He said that children with atypical ASD have problems with the school recognizing the diagnosis. He wants to make sure that if my son is on the spectrum that the school recognizes it.
PRAISE GOD for a great psychologist who is listening to my concerns and noticing that the school might not just accept an ASD diagnosis. He said we have to "build a case" so to speak. He said that all he surveys he has scored so far lean toward the spectrum but that my son is a hard case because he isn't the "classic ASD". He said that is why the school is trying to put him in the emotionally disturbed category. He said that my son is most likely in the middle of the spectrum and emotionally disturbed overlap.

So technically we are still in the process but we are making great progress!! He said after talking to me he is leaning more towards ASD.
