Wondering has anyone experience of combining Zoloft and Ritalin and what was the outcome. My son is 15yrs he is struggling again in school makes him very anxious and ADHD makes it difficult to focus and manage himself. He has been using Zoloft has helped with anxiety. Thanks in advance.

I've been on Ritalin. it made me very anxious. for an anxious person, don't they have that non-stimulant, straterra?

He used straterra and Prozac but wanted to stop he didn't like how it made him feel. We have tried different meds have helped but not very successful. His sister whom I suspect ASD but no official dx but is dx with GAD and ADD has been using Ritalin for a number of years without any problems.

My son takes Vyvanse for his ADHD. It works wonders and doesn't have those "speedy" side effects of Adderall and Ritalin that could mess with anxiety.

When my son first started adderall, he also had anxiety (though I suspect his was more "reactional" than "chemical" in nature). Adderall did not increase his anxiety at all, but we did have to work hard to get the dosage right. When it was right, it was magic. When it was too high, he got very flat and disconnected.

From the experiences I am aware of, it seems that stimulant use in spectrummy people is really hit or miss. I have known people who swear by them and others who curse them.
