Just needed to share, as some of you maybe aware J (my 9 year old son) has been having some issues with school. The school dont recognise J has aspergers so this has made me question everything.
Well today was a reminder of why J got his diagnoses.
The morning started with an hour on his ps2 he has just about clocked a game that I bought him yesterday afternoon. Then we headed off to his social club, with the local autism school (asperger kids only) where it was insisted that J and all the other kids had to participate in a group ball game. J did so reluctantly and with his hood on the whole time.
Home again now to more ps2 time. Its dinner time now, and I've just informed J that it's just the two of us for dinner so we will be having KFC. Yay he is so excited he is skipping all around the shop. We are driving home and are just about to pass a man who obviously has a sore leg and is trying to get off the road, he is running and hoping at the same time. J says "oh that man must have a sore leg" the car windows are down, and he then goes on to say at the top of his lungs"because if he didn't have a sore leg he would be a moron for running like that!" We are home now watching tv and out of no where J asks"what are love handles?" 8O
I tell him its the roll of fat that bulges over the side of your undies.
He asks if I have them then falls to the ground laughing and exclaiming wobble wobble, when I say yes and show him. Hmmmm  He then says he doesn't have any, I can't help myself and say yes you do look, and pinch the tiny roll he has. Ha ha ha mine are skinny not like yours, says my very checky boy. All settles down J goes off to his room, 10 minutes later he is back screaming and shaking he is scared something will fly in his window because I haven't pulled the blind down.
Just wanted to share, I'm sitting here smiling all is well in our little world. (for now anyway  )
cheers Aurea

Treasure that day, the humourous ones are WAY better than the meltdown ones. Don't you just love the random things he says.
I would die of embarrasment if Damo said something like what your J did when he saw that man witha sore leg.

That's the sort of thing my ds would say - the bit about the love-handles! Haha.

Great that all is going well at the moment. I treasure these times.

I think we have the most amazing kids on the planet. A one-on-one day with my son seems to always bring endless smiles and fun stories. It so good to have that experience, because far too much time ends up focused on the difficult parts.

Thank you Aurea.

That definantly had me laughing out loud.

Sounds like the sort of things my Aspie sons would say!
