Hi there!

I know it's not much to go on but there was a video game from the early to mid 1990's. I want to say it was X-Com but the videos I've seen of it recently doesn't appear to be it.

Okay, it starts off, you're in a big black spaceship and you thrust forward. That's as far as I got.

Very sorry that it's so little to go on but if you remember a spaceship flight simulator game that involves you being in a hugs black spaceship in which you can thrust forward that was released circa 1994/5 on 3.5 floppy, please let me know!

Thanks!

Yeah, that doesn't sound like X-COM.

This was for IBM PC?

Hmm, I have no idea, then. I was thinking maybe Star Voyager for the NES.

Don't know if this helps, but I know the Wing Commander games were really big back then.

There was a "not really XCom" game released under the XCOM label called XCom Interceptor.
That could be the one you are thinking of.

I always forget that that game and Apocalypse existed, but for some reason I recall Enforcer and that cancelled FPS game.

Truly a valiant attempt but alas, no.

Check out this list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_s ... ator_games
there are a couple different lists, you can sort by date and see if any are familiar.
Good luck and stay safe.

Is it Syndicate the one you are looking for? I'm fairly obcessed with videogames, and I remember playing that when I was a kid. It's similar to X-com, but not the same game.

Here is the wiki page if you want to see for yourself:

For ages I was trying to remember the name of an old arcade game I saw as a kid years ago. Basically a side-scrolling game where the player is a samurai with a sword who slashes ninjas, tigers, and ducks with little hats that look like fezzes on their heads. Then I found it on Mameplayer's channel on Youtube. The game is called
Samurai Nihon-ichi.

A game about a samurai warrior called Samurai. How hard was that to remember? :)

The game was even weirder than I remember. The blood splatters were neon yellow, including the final boss whose head you slice right off. Pretty gory for an old 80's game!

Do you remember if it was a side scroller? or was your view from the cockpit?

Funnily enough, there was a game I thought was called X-com however, looking up X-com it is not what I remember at all...
