The game has officially sold ~150k in Japan over doubling Wii U's weekly sales.

New weapon in the game, the Inkbrush! High learning curve on this one. Think roller, except faster but very thin. Unlike the Zapper gun (which is indeed quite good) when it came out, I've run into nobody else using one of these. I think this is my new favorite though; I'm scoring over 1000 *before* the end of the match with this thing; it's very, very satisfying to have the winning team's top player using the Aerospray, yet even having lost I outscore him ANYWAY. My only issue with it is that I'll get so berserk with the thing that I might do things like crash into a paint roller stupidly. Also it's hard to use; it's like a roller in concept but you cant use it like one if you want to really cover large amounts of ground.

Also this one is the most fun to hit enemies with, because of the crazy wild swinging of it when you attack. You cant just run over opponents with this, you have to stop and beat them over the head like a maniac with it. Each hit does little damage but it attacks hyper fast.

Surprised to see something new already, even if it is just one weapon.

Now everyone and their grandma is using the damn things. .....not very effectively.

I dont understand how the community chooses what weapon to obsess over, I really dont.

Also I still dont like chargers.

Splatoon is still putting up a good fight in the UK, by charting at #4 for the past week (down from #2 on opening week).

I also beat the single player mode on Saturday and loved the final boss.
I just cleared the girl Amiibo missions last night.
Only to level 6 online.

Splatoon sold another 70k in Japan boosting Wii U sales to over 20k for the previous week.
NPD placed it as the #5 best selling game in the U.S. for May, though only its first 3 days counted towards May!

It looks good I just don't have the money to purchase it at the moment.

Anyways Neogaf leaker says Splatoon sold ~136k for it's first 2 days on the U.S. market.

Clearly, the game needs more rapid-fire weapons

I look forward to encountering it a bazillion times in the next couple of days.

I swear if it has freaking Ink Strike as it's super weapon, I'll be just a tad annoyed. A bit tired of being stuck with that one on numerous weapons that I use. Dont like it.

New Kelp Dome map works out well, also. HUGE place, and very open.

As for me, I just unlocked the blasted Aerospray weapons myself. Wether or not I really DO much with them is yet to be seen. I'm well aware of how annoying many players find the things to be.

Also, rollers were EVERYWHERE today. I dont know why.

And equipment is expensive. Really dang expensive.

Okay: Whoever put the goddamn superweapon button on the RIGHT FREAKING STICK should be fired and forced to work at McDonalds for a year. Seriously.

And, typical gamedev bright move, you cant reassign buttons. That would be practical and useful. Cant have that. ...no, seriously, I can never understand when that obviously useful feature isnt in a game. MOST of the time this only happens on the consoles. But even on the PC, every now and then, it'll still happen (where it makes even less sense).

It's really been my one and only complaint about the game all this time.


Other than that, the new weapon is okay. It's all suction bombs for the sub and super, so that part is kinda bleh. Not sure what to do with those yet. But it DOESNT HAVE THE INKSTRIKE. This is a happy thing. Tired of being stuck with that. It's one of those "cover the ground fast" weapons that isnt so hot against anything with more range. Easy to get right away, it doesnt cost much.

The Luna blaster is out tonight.

And finally after 25 days on the market Splatoon has hit the 1M sold mark.

That figure includes more than 476,000 physical and digital units sold in the Americas, more than 368,000 sold in Japan, more than 230,000 sold in Europe and an additional 20,000 sold in Australia and New Zealand.

Blue Fin Depot or whatever it's called (that's the name I'm sticking with!) came out too, for that matter. Interesting map, that one. I'm not so good at navigating it yet. But it's a good one.

Also the Splatfest got delayed! I hear it was because of some matchmaking issue they discovered that was related to it? Aint heard a word on when it might be happening. Knowing my luck, it'll be next weekend, which is when I'm off at an anime con. Cant exactly join in via hotel wifi of all things, ugh.

I can't wait until the other 33 weapons fall and the other two levels that all exist in some degree on disc.

This game is pretty cool! I truly enjoy it!

Splatfest will take place starting at 3am ET on July 4th lasting 24 hours thus ending at 3am ET on July 5th.

You need to download patch 1.3.0 which goes live on June 30th.

I *knew* the blasted event was going to be on that specific weekend. Just knew it. I'm at an anime con that whole time. There's no way the dreaded Hotel Wi-Fi of Tragedy and Sorrow will be able to handle.... much of anything. It can barely handle Youtube most of the time. Bah.

Patch should be live now.
