Agreed. I'm still enjoying the videos by TotalHalibut, and he hasn't shown anything yet that would be enough to make me stop playing... If they never changed anything, on the other hand, I'd go City of Heroes on them, stop playing, and probably have a richer life as a result...

I personally am not bothered about the changes because it keeps it fresh. If people can't hack change then they should ask themselves why did I go into this. There are 12,000,000 players that Blizzard has the unenviable task of keeping happy and I should imagine there are probably some very colourful arguments in the meetings when they do make changes too! We have to be realistic they are a company making money and also keeping the customers happy is paramount to that. I won't be passing judgement on Cata till I've had it on here for a couple of months. And also yes I did order the collectors addition but no I am not a fan boy either!

i wasn't one of the happy players i played cause i was and am adicted, the game is just so hard to be good or decent at, there is so much damned research involved. the changes aren't why i'm quiting anymore i'm quiting cause of the difficulty.

some say it's to easy i say it's to damn hard.

the only things, i'm a bit sceptical about is the hunter changes, and the loss of ZG, but i can't wait for Archaeology The ultramarine burrower or whatever it is will be mine.

As someone who longs for the days of pre-Burning Crusade WoW and has "quit" several times, I look at Cataclysm as something I'll try to ignore and eventually end up trying for a few months to a year before "quitting" again.
I disagree with Jetfox about the difficulty though, it's gotten easier and easier with each expansion and it's one of the main reasons I keep quitting. It doesn't matter how well I learn to play my class, how hard I work to get gear or how well I know the fights. The difference between keyboard-turning, spell-clicking mouthbreathers and people actually trying to be decent has become annoyingly small.
I fear this won't change with Cataclysm, it'll still be catered to the casuals (which I understand) and the players trying to take the best out of their class will be left to the side, but maybe they'll add some features and content that'll hold my interest for a while.

well to me it's hard but i heard that dungeons are going to be brutal in cata, i heard that from the ones playing beta. when i say hard though i mean traveling for zone to zone, even on a swift mount it's so tedious, that is flying or riding. crafting something nice takes forever take my chopper for example i was out there mining and doing dailys killing mobs and it took almost a month to get that mount, it was eaiser to craft the chopper in clay with my own hands, took 3 days.

and sharing the ore was bull, i was using routes and i still could only get about 5 stacks of twenty saronite and about 6 titanium, half the time someone would take the ore from under my nose, that was annoying, beyond annoying. it came to a point that i was cursing at the moniter everytime that happened.

and running a dungeon 15 times to get the item to drop only to have it taken out from under my nose.

and trying to pull decent dps meaning having to respec 15 times and regem about 3 times, was basicly the straw that broke my back.

i'm not trying to rage here i'm just explaining what i saw as difficult. kinda came of as a rant though.

That's another sort of difficulty. Mainly; having patience. Most posters were referring to difficulty in instances, and in the last expansion; instances and raids were piss easy to the point where raid bosses were farm-able by over-geared PUG's.

well, since the patch came out, my mage's dps is WAY above what it was before(in all 3 specs).. also big dps boost with my lock and rogue.. My pally (dual specced) ret dps and survivability has gone to hell, but in Prot spec my dps and survivability has gone WAY up and tanking has never been easier. I haven't had the chance to try out any of my healers yet (priest and shammy) and I deleted my druid out of frustration after re, re, re, re, speccing with no improvement in feral or balance. (I never did like healing with a druid)

Mages got nerfed after the patch supposedly made us OP lol. Things are a little crazy at the minute with all the new talents, gems, reforging, bugs, etc. I suppose it's good that they've released this two months before Cata ,as it gives them a chance to test the changes on live before release. Otherwise it could be a lot worse than it's probably going to be when the expansion is released.

so agreed.that's why i quit just a bit after lich king. I admit that i get super upset when i have worked months to get to imba dps ( i'm a lock) ( i WAS, i quit dammit) to suddently out of the blue discover there is no way i will outdps a mage who started playing last month. i know i'm exaggerating but that's how it feels...blizzard keeps rebooting our chars. it's like trying to fill a sieve with water. it's basically revolting.sorry for the anti blizzard rant.....

Ah yes... I pine for the pre-BC days.... when owning a mount meant something.... and healers had respect.. (after all, if you spammed trade chat for an hour to get one!)

They are (somewhat) nerfing my mage(main). So thats really the only thing i dont like

I sincerely hope I find some more stuff to dislike in cataclysm when I actually play it, just so I might be able to quit, without returning to the game after a week. lol

I would have to say more than just like. The game now plays more realistically, as if you, the player, are communicating directly with the game, rather than through icons, abilities, dungeons, raids, BGs, etc. It all fits so well together and matches the playing style that has been present in many other good quality titles. I'm looking very forward to it.

They reversed the nerfs on beta. It seems they thought the new patch made lvl 80 mages too powerful, so they nerfed them, which made them underpowered at lvl 85. So basically the nerfs are staying in place until Cata is released, and then they will be reversed.
