Hells friggin yeah I am. As was said, there aren't many good games out now, or many I am looking forward to. i really need a game developed exclusively for next gen consoles to really enjoy my PS4. I've only played a few PS3 reboots thus far.

But I loved Fallout 3. New Vegas not so much. But the open world format free of dragons and swords is one of the things I love in a game. I hate dragons, swords (real ones are kinda cool tho) and magic. Unfortunately too many games with RPG/character building elements have them. So I am super pumped. Was going to preorder a few weeks ago but saw there weren't any significant bonuses for doing so. I don't care about a stupid poster or sweepstakes I have to enter on facebook, which I dont use. You wanna give me a nice piece of armor to start off with then I'm in. Otherwise Ill save my money until it comes out.

On a side note they really need to pick it up when it comes to PS4 games. Looking at what's coming out in the next 6 months, for me at least, it's really Fallout 4, Battleborn looks interesting, and the new Deus Ex. Otherwise it's a snore-fest.

It isn't just similar, it is the gamebryo engine. All they did was implement a few new features like volumetric lightning, physical based renedering or whatever the selling points were.

They did however put in an effort in improving the shooting mechanics and feel, that much is evident from the gameplay videos. But to be honest, I'd prefer they'd emphasize the RPG elements, which they have completely butchered by taking out skills all together. Now it's just Skyrim with guns, pick a perk per level style.

Looking forward to it... But I think it will be hard for Bethesda to match the success of Skyrim, even if Fallout 4 improves significantly on Fallout 3 (and of course New Vegas, which added much needed depth to the gameplay).

The engine simply doesn't work as well for Fallout as it does for The Elder Scrolls, in my opinion...

No skills? Really?

Gee, that sucks!

Still, I'll be playing it on the 10th...

I'll probably get it when it's on special. No way I'm paying 100+ AUSdollars.

I'm not convinced the Gamebryo engine is at fault. Quite a few well-executed, non-buggy games were made on the engine.

I've heard some of the voice acting from a stream, and it's weird. A lot of it sounds like it was recorded on some guy's mic without any regard for recording quality or consistency.

There's speculation that this game was rushed out because the Elder Scrolls MMO sunk a lot of Bethesda's money. Whether or not that's true, I can see the logic.

e: oh yeah, I started playing New Vegas through again. With graphical mods, at 4k downsampled and with 8x antialiasing applied, and at a consistent 60 frames. There's something special about going back to a game and having it play so perfectly... it's also a far better game than Bethesda's effort. It's more structured, which I think is where most of the complaints come from. But when you get to the eponymous New Vegas it opens up. The roleplaying gameplay (ie. stat/skill checks) is way better thought out and more significant, and in general the game is more focused and has more places which are clearly thought out and have little backstories rather than being just there.

I've got it preordered. It looks like it's going to be my new favorite game, with settlement building, and jet packs on your power armor. :D Just 2 days now...

I still haven't played FO3 or NV, and to be quite honest I'm fed up with hearing all this f*****g FO4 hype. Ugh.
