I prefer casual video games. I don't like games where you can die, it's kind of just, I don't know, too competitive and not my thing. Kirby games are my one exception to that.

^Agreed. Final Fantasy and Pokemon games are the way to go for me. [I always reset when a character dies in Fire Emblem.]

^ Yeah, I played Hogs of War thinking it was similar to Worms, but then it turned out the pigs died when they died and weren't back for the next fight like the worms in Worms (love those games). That made me lose interest in HoW, plus it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

There are RPGs where you're supposed to lose against an enemy.
For example, in FFII you are supposed to die to the dark knights at the beginning of the game, as part of the story.
And the kidnapper in Dragon Quest V. Boy, did that come as a surprise!

There's also the first boss battle of Radiant Historia. Then again, the entire battle is scripted, so nothing's really in your control [which is kind of heartbreaking on the first playthrough].

Worms was SUCH a good series. Team 17 just completely blew it after Armageddon though. Just... absolutely blew it.

Far as I'm concerned, the series is now dead in the water, has been for years. Unless you just LOVE facing the braindead AI. Getting actual opponents in the new games, far as I know, is nearly impossible.

Never going to forgive them for that. It's so hard for me to find multiplayer games that I actually like, and Worms was one of them. So that's no more, ugh. I mostly just have fighting games and Splatoon left now, and that's really it currently. It's depressing. All other multiplayer games have gone all military shooter, because OMG GUNZ, and blah blah blah.... ugh.

I want to do things perfectly & I get frustrated easily sometimes. I sometimes look things up online to make sure I'm doing things the correct way without getting too frustrated.

I wouldn't know about the newer Worms games, Misery. The last I played was Open Warfare, the last one available for my platforms. When will there be a 3DS Worms?

Actually aside from Steam, they seem to have switched to iOS and Android for the Worms games. Worms 4 was a recent release on there, I've not played it myself.

Sometimes. It all depends on the type of game, how I feel when I wake up in the morning and if I'm feeling lazy.

I enjoy games where I can slowly figure out new tricks over time, like a puzzle. If I want to relax and not think I often watch a movie instead. Indie story games tend to bore me because I think of a lot of things I'd like to try or explore that aren't part of the story I'm following.

Depends what "challenge" means. Alien Isolation is one of my favourite games, only because it can get so intense and have you really wrack your brains to determine a valid strategy (not to mention that it's an absolutely flawless imagining of the Alien film). Set the difficulty to it's highest (I think it's survivor difficulty, don't quote me on that) and you're going to have an absolutely relentless and persistent seeking out by the alien and working Joe's. That's a good challenge.

What isn't such a good challenge is something like Dark Souls. I've heard people claim that "the game isn't hard". Well, yeah, I guess it isn't. It's frustrating, time consuming, and once you've crossed the same area ten times to fight the same boss (sometimes not making it because of the damned minor enemies in the way), it gets repetitive and tedious. So it's not hard (and not even particularly a bad game; it's quite good), but you'd better be prepared for an all nighter if you actually want to get somewhere in that game, simply because of the learning curve.

So that's how I define good and bad challenge.

Reasonable challenge, but not hair-pulling, teeth-grinding challenge.
