From what I understand, it depends. For local work being outside of LA is probably not a problem, but if you're talking about being in animated TV or movies, it's probably going to be a problem as you do need to be near the director, producer and audio engineers and it can be hard to do that remotely. And, that may well change, but often times everybody is in the same studio because what other people are doing can impact what you do and there's things that the producers and director may hear while you're doing your thing that can require adjustments. Doing that remotely can be a pain.

That's a good issue to bring up and it might vary depending on the projects one is involved with.

Some voice acting gigs will want all the actors together so that they can improvise and banter, etc. Others allow talent to work remotely. Maggie Roswell voices all of her Simpsons roles from home, for example.

That said, I don't think working from home means being entirely out of the loop, especially these days. One can have a Zoom call open with all of the other required people for collaboration, but also be using their DAW to record their lines.

I would need to move to a big city like Los Angeles if I EVER want any chance of making these goals a reality!! !

Those are literally some of the best suited jobs for remote work. I don't think relocating needs to be a priority.

I am not really interested in being professional right now

Making my own Indie video game would allow me to try out not just voice acting but also music composition and programming!

If at any time I decide I want to try to be in a cartoon or movie THEN I would have to relocate to L.A for the reasons you mentioned @MatchboxVagabond!! !

But I don't want to become a big celebrity so I will STAY AWAY from Hollywood

It IS possible for people around where I live to get on national TV

There was a kid in this county who sent in an audition tape a few years ago and got to be on Nickelodeon's "Figure it Out" reboot so I CANNOT say that where I live is truly "holding me back"!

Regarding professional acting or voice acting, my friend Jolie got to be a voice actor in a major animated Hollywood production

I thought that was REALLY cool!! !

I actually did that, three times.

Still ended up as web developer, not a game developer.

Sigh.

My best choice for game development is still making those Indie games first then going from there!! !

Also, I can post videos on YouTube of me impersonating various cartoon characters so you can hear what I would sound like if I was to become a professional voice actor!

Game development could lead to voice acting (or other disciplines of the entertainment industry)...

It works the other way around too:

Voice acting could lead to game development (and other sectors of entertainment industry)...

Well...

Something BIG is happening...! !!

My family friend Pat has found an entry point for me to get in the entertainment industry!! !! !!

Specifically, animation & voice-acting

As for video game development, just waiting for a reply from Nintendo of America...

The plan is for me to move to David's group home next year once we get married and then start pursuing the goal!! !

If David's group home cannot take me to L.A then I will just learn how to drive!

HOWEVER, I realize if I become professional VA I would have to memorize an entire script!! !

Maybe getting involved in cartoons and movies ISN'T such a good idea right now?

Besides, I have to start from the bottom with local radio stations first before I can actually get anywhere...

EDIT: I don't know how most big-name voice actors such as Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants) can memorize script dialogue for OVER 300 EPISODES of the series!! !

That is an impressive feat and not many people can pull it off!

Now that Jody at Day Program is saying I need to abandon my goal of marriage (at least to David because of all of his health issues) maybe I SHOULD be focusing on my other goals like voice acting, animation, game development/music composition etc!! !

Even smaller stuff like finally acquiring the Nintendo Switch V.R Kit which also benefits my brother due to the popular games it interfaces with such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a better & more obtainable goal than getting married right now

And none of those things require moving away from home unless I decide to re-locate to L.A (Burbank) to become a professional voice actor or animator!

What do you guys think?

Is Jody right?

Thanks in advance!! !

Those Nintendo Switch STEM Kits help with learning coding but I REALLY need to allocate a lot of time to that and other creative projects instead of constantly thinking about marriage and parenting because it just gives me stress & anxiety!! !

But right now as long as I continue to live where I currently am, a lot of this stuff I want to do would be impossible!! !

That means moving out is a MAJOR PRIORITY!

I'm wondering which of this stuff is supposedly "impossible" without moving out first. Neither voice acting nor music production, nor coding, should require you to move. All you'd need for that is a laptop, the necessary software, maybe an internet connection, to get started.
