IMO there isn't one however I will admit to Call of Duty being released every 5 minutes and it just seems to be more of a cash grab. But i would never detract from something people enjoy.

I think "bad games" are all a matter of personal opinion, but personally I tend to avoid Call of Duty and any sports games.

I remember liking the 'famously bad' Atari ET (but I didn't have many games to choose from). Tried it again some years ago and not a clue how it worked
pac-man on the same has a bad rep too, I only hated it because sister was extremely good at it

Liked some of the more arcade type sport games or when they have a 'game' element instead of trying to be too real. (Brutal Sports / Speedball... *Icecream!* Think speedball had a remake a while ago). Had a hockey game (wayne gretzky) where me and sister enjoyed getting as many players in the penalty box as we could. (we are genuine sporty people )

I'm a later in life fan of both Pac-Man and Mrs. Pac-Man myself. :D

I feel like Mrs. Pac-Man was one of the earliest examples of strong leading female video game characters long before Lara Croft or Chun-li  8)

I would have stated this one had you not beat me to it. It was soooo bad, apparently the unsold cartridges were buried in a desert to get rid of them.

Here's a rare occasion where I'll dunk on Open Source.

Actually, there are several really bad Open Source games, because they can never release a finished, non-Alpha, non-Beta release!

They just keep noodling and diddling away forever, all lackadaisical, with no convergence on a finished game. They keep adding more and more features, making the game way too complicated, always trying to to reach some unreachable perfection. It's "design by committee", doomed to take forever.

Examples:

- 0AD: has been in Alpha quality for 15 years! :x https://play0ad.com/
- Veloren - eternally in Alpha as well: :? https://veloren.net/
- Xonotic - also can't even achieve a 1.0 release! :( https://xonotic.org/
- Unvanquished - ditto, no 1.0 release! https://unvanquished.net/

Mostly MMos,
-Fallout76,
-ESO,
-Secret world legends,
-Once Human,
-Wurm online,
-EvE online..

But if your talking single player..
-Quantum Rail got a bad steam review from me
-Night of the dead Is more Likely to bluescreen you than actually play and be playable
-Ark.. Just Minecraft with Pvp
-Runescape was just terrible
-Creativerse the Minecraft Knock off.. a whole bunch of players recently started returning to find their bought items and worlds erased and locked again, I personally got told to post a so called code on the creators website or something and i 'might' get my stuff back told em to take a walk.
that said I'm likely to search way down the lists where noone goes in to the depths of Steam and GoG see whats down there. I found hidden gems down there.
Never have a problem with GoG games though for some reason their stuff is just better.

Lego Star Wars II is pretty bad.

No, I ain't talking about the home console and PC versions, I'm talking about the DS version.

Not like 'God this is one of the worst games ever made' but very much 'Yeah wow this is a pretty bad version of an otherwise great game'.

I actually used to have it because I loved Lego Star Wars II on the PS2 and, while I knew it wouldn't 100% be the same game on the DS, I still thought it'd be a fun portable version.

Yeah nah, it wasn't. Just some stuff I remember:
- It wasn't uncommon for assets to just randomly disappear. Talking like your character, enemies, sometimes even entire rooms would just like...disappear and no longer exist.

- In some levels, thinks you had to activate or whatever to advance through the level (like doors you had to be an Imperial character - or in disguise as one - to unlock) wouldn't work in free play, so those levels couldn't be beat in free play mode. They worked fine in story mode.

- The co-op straight up didn't work. I remember trying to play it with a friend in middle school, always froze our DSes after five minutes.

Came with ours (I think), played it a lot  Not the sort of thing I'd be into now

Long ago, I did get a 2600 again and several cartridges but it is really just nostalgia
(this was when ebay was still ebay "crap people collect" and not some amazon/ali alternative... now also a nostalgic memory on it's own)

Some months ago, I had pitfall II music on youtube while mom visited and it still gets on her nerves  She tried quite long not to say anything 8).

Blood is considered one of the greatest horror action FPS games of the 90s.

It's sequel Blood II is considered one of the worst pieces of crap ever made.

I remember the kids playing this on the computer in primary. Kicking heads around on the ground and setting bad guys on fire. Interesting they left this on school computer. I preferred kids games at the time
