BF2142

They should have just fixed the problems in BF2 and opened it up a bit more to modders (like making an editor that doesn't eat resources and crash all the time), and then the modders would probably have made something similar.

I consider all (or most) classic-era arcade games awesome by default

not long ago, gaming was always designed for males,so if there's anything thats supposed to be especially for males in games,it wont stop females from playing it,is something female gamers would be used to.

True, but even nowadays, there are hardly any female gamers who are into FPS games... But I guess that's understandable.

Hmm I'd say... Guitar Hero. =) Interesting concept, but the gameplay could be so much more interesting. Seriously, what is the point of buying new guitars and such, it's just pointless. They need add an incentive to beat the songs, not just the incentive of unlocking more songs...

guitar hero 2 was good cause of hammer ons and pull offs, BUT 3 was gay. i just bought a used version of the game and guitar seperatly so i wouldnt have to spend $100.

Yeah I realy dont think that guitau hero should be as popular as it is.
Now since the Halo series is a obbsesion of mine I feel I have an obligation to protect it, the game pits peoples stratagies, reactions, teamwork and a bit of psycholgical warfare. I have read a lot of the novels and it has a wonderful backstory, cortana was meant to give a narative of the game, and appeals to teenage boys. Now many people belive there is a reason people say it lived up to its name Halo:combat evolved, for one it only alows 2 weapons to hold so there is a stratagy in it. Many other games have supposed to have copied from halo, such as the AI and the control format which has been copied by other games, such as right trigger shoot and left trigger grenade or with halo 2 and threeleft hand weapon. Also the enemy diversity in the game is great from the humorous grunt which will scatter if its leader is killed, to the flood who if you shoot certain areas the limbs can fall off, oh and the music was ausome and in halo 2-3 you could board enemy vehicles. Now I think I should stop befor I fill an intire page.

i think GH2 was neccesarie cause it expanded more adding things like hammer ons and pull offs but GH3 was gay. i mean the bundle is. thats all. the game, i bought it used just for the songs.

Gituar Hero, I played it at my hardcore gamer brother's house and it was fun after I got the hang of it but it seemed rather pointless. Why not get a real gituar and play that?

Virtual pet games. These were always my favorite I must confess but you can't really bond with a pixel the way you would with a living creature. Plus you can't actualy pet it.

Neopets. They could have made it so you can interact with your pets. Plus it's really a scam. Saving for months sometimes even years for a single virtual item. I have to confess I am saving for a disco fever paintbrush myself. The dumbest thing ever is paying REAL money for items that acualy expire. What a stupid idea!

I might anger somebody and I have enough enemies as well but, lets see hear

The grandtheft auto series, why spend the money when one can watch it outside for free, or on the news.

Katamari, it is actually fun to play, still don't know how it succeded though, from an analytical point of view you just roll around picking things up, shrug, still fun.

Resident Evil, not much changes from game to game, like I'm one to talk with liking the Harvest Moon Series.

But still people each have their own taste in games so what do I know.

The thing that annoys me is that every year without fail the biggest selling game is John Madden football. I can't think of a more dull or boring choice, yet every year it's #1.

- Most FPS games newer than Quake II
- Super Mario Sunshine (it's basically SM64 with more polygons and a water gun)
- Black & White 2
- Animal Crossing
- Harvest Moon

I don't get the appeal of first-person shooters. From Doom to Halo 3, I just don't get it.

Of course you don't... you're not a guy. But gender stereotypes (?) aside, the reason why FPS is my favorite game genre is because it has just the right balance of immersion, action, strategy, and fun. It's also a good way to let off steam. I could go into more detail, but this isn't the right thread for that.

Anyway, the games I wish hadn't been successful are Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament, because they started a tradition of "multi-player only" FPS games. I only play in single-player mode, and I prefer the ones which have some kind of story.

Girls play Halo 2. I'm female and a huge Halo fan. I can't wait for the releasal of Halo Wars.
