Years ago around the late 80's i played my first game. Was on something before the C64, some archaic dicksmith branded thing. Ran fully on tapes. I consider my first real game on the C64, was international soccer run from a cartridge.

Btw hello, i'm new around here. Nice to finally be part of this community.

Hi :)

That would probably be the Dick Smith Wizard

The Australian rebrand of the Hong Kong Creativision.

Funnily enough under the hood, the c64 and Wizzard both sported 6502 microprocessors.
The C64's massive edge in games came from its Graphics and Sound chips.

That game was a true work of art.

The very first video game, if you can call it that, that I played, was an orange two screen LCD hand-held of Donkey Kong.
Well how about that, since it was so last century I wasn't really expecting to find it on the internet, but there you go.

That's me too!

That makes three. Pong, Donkey Kong, and Pole Position all on the 2600.

Some gameboy game most likely, for Gameboy Color. Might have been pokemon yellow actually, the first and only pokemon game I've ever had or played. When I was 6 my parents banned pokemon thinking I'd turn into a spaz or something. I'd play them now, but I don't really have the interest, I'm a console and pc gamer these days.

Or it might have been Mario Kart double dash, I played it at some unknown early point of my life while visiting relatives.

A game called Football Director on the Commodore 64. It was all text, no graphics.

At around the same time a golf game, probably Leaderboard, also on the C64.

I am not sure. My family owned an Atari when I was born, and I played that a lot...
other than that, I know I got an NES for my 5th birthday from my sister. She got me a game called Dragon Warrior along with the Mario/Duck Hunt game that came with it. Of course I played Dragon Warrior first cuz I love dragons...but I didn't get very far. There's a menu for everything...from going up stairs, to opening chests...classic RPG. I didn't get into RPGs until much later, but I ended up coming back to this game and loving it after I grew up a little.

Oh, well, since you mentioned Atari... I still have my Atari 2600VCS lying around (it was still in working condition a few years ago when I tried it... maybe I should connect it again and take some video), but years before that, my uncle bought one of these in the early 70s:

It had several variations of pong-style games, and we played it on my uncle's B&W TV... so that was the first video game I played.

Several years later, after it broke and couldn't be repaired, he gave it to me and I took it apart (I'm an electronics engineer now, so I could use the various pieces in other projects, and apparently the last technician who tried to look at it took the ROM, so it was "brainless" by then). I still have it lying around (well , the casing, I mean, as the various electronics components are in my parts shelf), I should maybe take a picture some day...
