Also, guys! I'm super duper happy! I finally beat my fist mission in MvM because I wasn't paired with a bunch of imbeciles! I'm pretty good at playing Demoman on MvM and that is my preferred class I like to play when playing MvM.

For MvM I started out playing mostly pyro, but now have migrated a bit to engineer (but sentry busters drive me nuts) and heavy. Haven't played the other classes too much yet. Sniper w/Sydney Sleeper (to "jarate" the giants) and Jarate ought to be fun too but I need more practice with it.

Also, MvM makes me wish there were upgrades to weapons in the original game. Maxed out Pomson and Rocket launchers are awesome.

I've tried snipers in MvM, wasn't really impressed. (Used Sleeper, SMG, Kukri). I can see Jarate being decent against hordes of an enemy and the Sleeper being decent against a Giant, but the downsides to both is that actual Damage will be pretty low. That and the Jarate necessitates getting decently close to the horde that might be able to outrun/shoot you.

If you wanted to go Sniper, I'd recommend the Sleeper for Giants and the Cleaner's Carbine for hordes. Sniper will not last for more than a few seconds if he becomes the target, especially against Soldiers and Demomen.

How are the opponents in MvM different from regular opponents (besides that they're robots)?

Yeah, some of those maxed out weapons rock. It's a major motivation to get all of the money. Usually we have a scout that is our money slave that collects money while being a general annoyance to the robots.

I've tried Engie and there were times where I thought the Sentry busters were taken out, but they weren't and yeah... no fun... usually I am good at getting away from them. There is this one technique to tease the where you run into the them quickly run away, but yeah... I've seen it done, but haven't totally got the hang of it.

Besides, I always have an engie on my team to begin with.

Yeah, I know the technique to pick up your gun, let them get next to you, then run away before they explode. The problem is they always show up at the most inopportune times, so I'm always trying to wait as long as possible before packing up, and of course I get burned.

Mostly they're basically the same as the regular classes - the robots don't switch weapons (i.e. each robot is only equipped with one weapon at a time, they cannot switch), but sometimes you'll get (for instance) snipers with sydney sleepers, sometimes with regular rifles, and other times with huntsmen. Same for the other classes. Also, there are giant versions of several of the classes (scouts, heavies, demomen, soldiers) but they are not so numerous. However they tend to have more powerful weapons and can usually withstand a few thousand points of damage before they die (very tough when they're being supported by several robot medics who are healing and ubering them). There's usually swarms of large numbers of regular sized robots and then depending on the level maybe 2-6 giants. And, in MvM as a player you earn money to upgrade your weapons - some of the robots have upgraded weapons. Soldiers and demomen can have increased fire rates, giant soldiers can constantly shoot crit rockets, etc. Also, there's one enemy that's not seen at all in the regular game, which is the tank. It just drives to the goal and deploys a bomb if it gets there (if that happens, the humans lose the level) - it doesn't shoot back - but it can take I'm guessing 10-15 thousand hit points before its destroyed.

No, no, no, that's the beauty of it, you only use up the ticket when you win the mission so if you lose, the ticket is not used up, meaning you don't waste money.

To me, that was definitely a smart move on Valve's part. Meaning, if you happen to get grouped up with a bunch of idiots, no problem, your ticket isn't used up if you don't complete the mission.

OK, but you still have to have a ticket EVERY TIME you complete a mission. I thought it would be a game mode where everyone can play as many times as they wanted. What a rip-off. :(

No, no, no, you can play MvM for free on community servers, but if you want to play Mann up Mode and get cool items, you need tickets.

No, you can play without a ticket at all. I haven't even bought a ticket yet. Also, the items drops, even on the free servers, seem way better than in the regular game - I've found at least three items that I never found in the regular game even after playing for years - like sticky jumper, rocket jumper, the new sniper carbine.

It's okay, it took me a while to understand too. That's why there is an FAQ about MvM on the site

Though, I didn't get any of the cool MvM items. I really want them. The metal hats for the Heavy and Engie look pretty badass. Also, you can have it so that Sasha has a chain around her with a gold robot head on the end which I find pretty badass too, who cares if it does nothing? It's sweet!

Sorry for double posting, but I'm so, so happy that I completed my second MvM mission on Mann up mode.
