I think relegating her to assist trophy status doesn't do her justice.
Here is the site to vote and submit characters for Smash Bros 3DS and Wii U.
....now this'll bother me all night until I think up some.
I hate when that happens. I specifically try to come up with something related to a certain topic, but BECAUSE I'm trying to list things, suddenly none of those things will occur to me.
Preferrably from series that arent a bit overly there already though (Mario, and Fire Emblem though I dont play those). I'll probably at least give a vote for Ridley (yes I know what they said about him. I dont care. The size thing is a dumb excuse anyway, particularly considering the inclusion of both Kirby and Olimar, or Bowser who seems to be able to just change his size at will from one game to the next). I'd consider "Balloon Fight Guy" as another one since that one is a classic to me, but there's already Villager using those very balloons.
Ugh. And I'm already blanking out on ideas. But I shall think of some!

Brig. Betty would be cool, though I think Sami or Nell would be more recognizable and likely ( both from the Advance Wars series )...Zip wouldn't work, unless he's added an an Assist Trophy. I've already submitted a bunch, including an obligatory Ice Climbers request, and plan to submit more
So far:
Alexandra Roivas ( Eternal Darkness ) ( and yes, Nintendo DOES OWN THE RIGHTS not Dyack )
Mike Jones ( StarTropics )
Ice Climbers
Chibi-Robo
Wonder-Red
Shantae
Demille ( Tomato Adventure )
Captain Syrup ( Wario Land )
Amazon Pandora ( Kid Icarus )
Krystal ( Star Fox )
King K Rook ( Donkey Kong Country )
Lana ( Hyrule Warriors )
Inkling ( Splatoon )
Isaac ( Golden Sun )
a few I plan to submit:
Zael ( The Last Story )
Aeron ( Pandora's Tower )
Frey/Freya ( Zangeki No Reginleiv ) ( Alt situation a la male & female swap on WFT and Robin )
Ray 01 ( Custom Robo )
Ganon ( Zelda ) ( by Ganon, I mean the classic version from A Link to the Past )
Sakura Samurai ( since Takamaru is an Assist Trophy... )
Tempo ( HarmoKnight )
Sceptile ( Pokemon )
Sylux ( Metroid )
Prince Fluff ( Kirby's Epic Yarn )
Aisha ( Archaic Sealed Heat )
Welt ( Soma Bringer )
Leucos ( Glory of Heracles )
Ayumi Tachibana ( Famicom Detective Club )
Karate Joe ( Rhythm Heaven )
Elma ( Xenoblade Chronicles X )
Isa Jo ( Sin & Punishment )
Jill & Dozer ( Drill Dozer )

On a side note, in-game: I am SO tired of the Marth Brigade. Usually Lucina. Usually predictable. If she appears too much, I quickly get bored. Ugh.
It's like back when everyone and their grandma and their grandma's dog and the fleas on their grandma's dog used Eddie in Guilty Gear X2. Except less annoying. But still pretty annoying.
EDIT: And whyyyyyyyyy do I get so overheated when playing games like this against others? Argh.

Frankly I get more upset than I should when I play against others in this game (nevermind the fact this the first one I've actually been able to do that with). Of course, it also really doesn't help when others resort to cheap tactics to win.
(A la, the 50 million grabs strategy...)

Well, it's not even a matter of frustration, really... it can happen to me even if I'm winning over and over and over and over and over again. I just dont get it.
....also, if your opponent is using throws/grabs way too much in Smash, certain aerial attacks are really, really good at dealing with them... your opponent cannot throw you if you're in the air. It depends on the character, but jumping (just a very light hop, not a high one), then hitting A (usually neutral A) almost instantly afterwards, and then hitting down to land faster... if done right, this can stop ALOT of things. Alot of neutral aerials (neutral meaning not pushing the stick forward or back at the moment you hit A) have this property. Characters you dont expect to be able to do this often can; Dedede is a big one for me, his basic aerial is incredible. It just goes through so much, has a huge hitbox, and can be used very, very fast.... which can be unexpected considering how slow he is. It depends on the character as to which aerial attack is good for this (for ROB it's forward-A, for instance, that is the super quick one), but it does help.
Also, you can sidestep (not dodge-roll, I mean the "dodge into the background" sort of thing) throw attempts. That's usually what I end up doing.
Also depending on characters, downward smash attacks as well as standing-A moves (particularly multi-hit ones... you'd be surprised how often people crash into these! Even quite good players will do this!) are good counters to people that are using throws too often. Or those irritating players that try to dodge "through" you and hit you from the other side. EVERYONE seems to do that. I can find it tough to deal with with certain specific characters, but most of the ones I mainly use... such as Bowser and ROB... can counter these things easily, by simply hitting their down-smash as the opponent is in the middle of the dodge roll. What's funny about this is that almost always the player doing that will just keep trying it over and over anyway....
The best tip though is: Just experiment! Try everything!
Though, even when you've got a good way around a super-annoying tactic, and even if you're winning against it... it doesnt make it any less super-annoying, does it...
Fortunately with this game, there doesnt seem to be any GENUINELY cheap tactics anymore... like the old "just hang on the ledge" thing that Melee allowed, which was boring and involved no skill. I'm really loving how balanced the whole thing is.
Even if the Marth Brigade is much too common.

....what
Maybe this is Microsoft admitting that they're competing in a completely different market than Nintendo.

Ah, I think I can kind of see that though.
Thanks for the advice. Admittedly, I am unused to fighting against other players, so I think part of it is adapting to human players after years of fighting solely against bots, and switching from a console to a handheld. But I'll try some things out to see what works, though I think Greninja's aerials should be pretty useful in that regard.
...Yeah, dodge rolls get old very, very quickly. It's good to know you can punish them for it though.
I've heard that this iteration's been a lot more balanced than its predecessors, which is always good to see. Especially after seeing some really terribly balanced fighter-ish games.

I think we should just be grateful we're finally getting DK64 on virtual console and they're at least willing to allow Banjo * Kazooie in Smash....plus, I have PD on my 360 and N64 so I couldn't care less about ever seeing it on Wii U VC

Yeah, dodge rolls are definitely punishable; there's a brief moment when the roll ends where the user cannot do anything, they have to wait for their character to finish the animation, and the character is vulnerable during that "finish" of the roll. Some dashing attacks (like Mario's) sort of slowly slide instead of being a single solid impact; these are also good for catching an opponent if you think they're going to roll backwards from you; you can mix this up with jumps at the end of the dash to keep them guessing.
The console VS handheld bit though... ugh. I'm mostly playing the Wii U version; I do have the 3DS one, but.... argh. That STICK. I hate the thing. That device just is not made for a game like that, it really isnt. I found it very.... irritating. Wheras with the Wii U version, I bought one of the "fight pads" for that... the controllers that mimic the original Gamecube controller, and that's absolutely perfect for it. I'd worried that it would turn out to be a cheap 3rd party gizmo, but no, it's a good quality controller.
But yeah, I definitely think this is the best version of the game that's come out so far (either of them, they're both the same game aside from a couple of levels being exclusive to one or the other). It's sooooo good to see it finally balanced well, after all these years of it being balanced very much NOT well at all.... every character is viable now. Absolutely loving it.
Of course, playing online, you're not going to see every character regardless. Players have a tendancy to only use "easy" characters, or characters that are overly common in tournaments (because alot of them tend to just copy what they see other players do, rather than experiment and come up with stuff themselves... sigh).
