< The Grox, as seen in my picture.
They're creatures from the game Spore, inspired by the Borg from Star Trek (their name in the Spore Beta was "Grob"). They form a huge galactic empire (having colonized 2400 solar systems), living around the center of the galaxy. They're the "final boss" of the game, as you have to deal with them in case you want to get to the galactic core, which holds a secret tool (and the game's ending sequence).
I like them because they are really formidable enemies (or allies, if you manage to ally with them, but this causes everyone else to hate you- it turns you into a galactic supervillain! More on this below), and their appearance is pretty cool and menacing, yet somewhat cute 'n fuzzy.
The Grox voice is a glitchy, beeping, fluctuating, computerized voice with many strange words, and is also composed of what pitch or tone is used. They often tend to repeat themselves, saying the same phrase several times in one animation. The Spore manual says, beware the Grox, as they do not understand relationships. They often make humorously poor threats and compliments due to their misunderstanding of the culture and personality of normal species. Repeating words and fluctuating in tone, sounds Aspie, no? The words they speak are literal and unemotional, too.
They have countless Aspie traits (they are robotic after all), you could even say that the Grox are every Aspie's true form.
They have trouble making friends, but they don't blame themselves for that, and they say they don't need others. Nobody else matters.
"Self-centered" is nowhere close to describe them.
And when somebody does try to be friendly to them, this happens:
