Great DLC idea, hopefully as a free update via a patch: the ability to SHARE CUSTOM STUFF BETWEEN VERSIONS! Think about it, the annoying, RNG based grind for hats, outfits and custom moves has to be done on 2 versions...why not add an option for those of us who own both to share between the two and cut down on the luck based grinding?

Also while it might seem stupid, I'd like to see more enemies added to Smash Run to add more variety ( as well as options to adjust the AI difficulty and turn off those bullshtako Orne enemies ). Imagine seeing a zombie or 2 from Battleground Z, my namesake from EarthBound or a rogue Vivosaur....

You know you can transfer a character between two.
If you transfer over a non Mii character, I do believe you can change the moves.

If you have Amiibos, make them battle it out in versus mode and the will earn loads of loot!
They get trophies, equipment, and custom moves...!

Timed battle at highest timer, let it run and return to find prizes galore.

Though some pieces of equipment and customs moves are locked behind challenges in the challenge board.

If you don't want use the Amiibo method, then do the following:

Smash Run on the 3DS version will net you lots of equipment and moves (I did this route because I love playing Smash Run) I netted most of the custom moves and quit!

Smash Tour and Classic mode on Wii U is the best non Amiibo way to get CO tickets, equipment and custom moves.

It’s a huge undertaking to create a fighter, so I think we can’t make them in large quantities. I’d also like to feel refreshed when the project is over. However, since we have decided to tackle [DLC] once, I’d like to offer as much fun [content] as possible. It will take a while from now, but please look forward to it.

Yeah, making something like that takes bloody forever. Even for small developers, adding new content is... ah.... complicated. I had a chance to participate in that process somewhat recently in addition to the beta testing I already do, and... yeah. Most people dramatically underestimate the time it takes to add things. Doesnt even matter what the "thing" is that is being added, really doesnt. New character, clone character, new item, stage, assist trophy, new mode, whatever it is, it probably takes about a zillionty years to make. Animating and model-designing and such in particular can take a long time and this developer has a very high standard to keep to so as to match with the rest of the game.

That of course wont stop people from complaining about it. "Why havent we gotten like 8 new characters and 5 new stages by now? It's not that hard YOU JUST SUCK AT MAKING GAMES HERP DERP", and so on. Ugh. I see that sort of thing *really* often from people.

As for the dates, that explains where Mewtwo is; I'd mentioned it to a friend that has the game but of course he wasnt there for him to download, so that makes sense now. Lucas' date I'd known about and actually remembered for... some reason.

I've been doing Smash Run but it gets so tedious I had to stop playing altogether for a few months. Finally got 6 of the final 8 hats I needed in the last few days though, as well as another move ( one of Shulk's up moves ) but still...so tedious and annoying, and everything has to be collected TWICE which is even more annoying. The trophies I'm fine with ( aside from the challenges, which on Wii U just make me want to slash my wrists ) but since the hats, outfits and moves are exactly the same on both versions I don't see why they couldn't have included an option to unlock them between the 2 ( IE you have Captain Falcon's Helmet on 3DS, linking would give the option to unlock it on Wii U because you already have it... ). Heck, I'd seriously pay $20 just to have the challenge unlocks added to the RNG just to make it more fair for those of us ready to kill ourselves because we can't do squat ( seriously, All-Star mode alone makes me suicidal, and I play on EASY ffs... ). Might go the Amiibo route, set up a long match and just do something else while they fight and check in after enough time has passed ( or a 99 stock match while I sleep...that's how I got the Smash mode playtime challenges on 3DS ). Oh, and Smash Tour is terrible....only reason I will bother to go back is to do the challenge to get the final blow on a boss ( though I'd still rather just pay somebody with the luck, skill and patience to do all the challenges that unlock moves, hats, trophies and CDs for me. Sick of feeling worthless and suicidal... )

I have most everything unlocked in both versions.

I've gotten a lot of hats and custom moves from Crazy Order, Master Order and All-Star mode on hard.

I enjoy unlocking stuff, so it doesn't bother me!

I'd sell my soul to be able to do that stuff.....I can't even handle All Star on easy due to the stage hazards, lack of a continue option and cheap AI. Never mind the annoying bs of Event Mode, Multi-Man Mode, Smash Tour and high intensity Classic....*sigh* I guess I'll never have everything in a Smash Bros game beyond the 3DS ( I still have no idea how I managed to beat 9.0 there, but I can't even do 5.0 on Wii U ), assuming the RNG finally gives me new stuff....

Customize your favorite characters...!

I do find the Wii U game to be faster and more fluid.
Though Classic mode seems to be harder on Wii U, while All-Star is easier on Wii U even on harder mode (I already beat it 8 times on hard to get the beat that challenge).

Also some trophies and custom moves are exclusive to event mode as well.

I just love unlocking stuff and I find Smash 4 to be addictive as Melee.

I actually find the reverse true, All Star feels easier on 3DS to me ( the fact I beat it with everyone including Mewtwo while Wii U version only 4 successful runs proves that... ). And I do customize my favorite characters, it doesn't really help much in my case ( plus, you do have to use everyone in some cases and I really suck with some characters like Jigglypuff and Duck Hunt... ). Classic mode is definitely harder on Wii U though, as my point about beating 9.0 on 3DS yet struggling on 5.0 on Wii U shows...I'll give it another shot eventually, at least as far as beating All Star with everyone goes ( on easy...that's frustrating enough ). I really hope they either drop All Star in the next game or just make it a survival mode more about high scores & bragging rights than "beat this mode with everyone for trophies"

All-Star mode has always had a trophy as reward at the end.
I like the fact you have alternate trophies.

Many of the challenges in Wii U are based on completing All-Star mode with different characters on different difficulties.
It also has timing modes for certain characters as well.

Beat true Solo All-Star mode as Ike on hard is one of them.
So is beating All Star mode as Shulk in 6 mins or less.
Also beat All-Star mode as ZSS too.

You can stop telling me what unlock requirements there are, I have the game so I know what all the bullshtako requirements are which is what makes me suicidal over my inability to do jack squat. I like alt trophies as much as the next guy, but All Star mode just keeps getting worse, and IMO should be replaced with another mode ( like maybe bringing back Adventure Mode ). I liked All Star in Melee, and tolerated it in Brawl but with 50+ characters to fight and AI being cheap a-holes while stage hazards still screw you over 9 times out of 10 just becomes annoying bs rather than being remotely fun. And every time a new fighter gets added through DLC, they get added to All Star...which makes it even more obnoxious. You like it, good for you. Glad you can get stuff unlocked. Me, I can't do squat and want to lkill myself half the time. To each his own I guess...

Tried All Star again, as Captain Falcon....got KO'd by the stage. Screw this bullshtako, I give up trying and for good this time. They turn off items, but not the stage hazards? Sakurai and his team can die in a fire for all I care, there is no excuse for cheap obnoxious bullshtako.....

Then use him on easy mode.

Ike is best to use on hard and normal mode.
Lucina, Marth, Shulk, and others with weapons are best for hard mode.
Also it is possible to beat hard mode with Duck Hunt!

Also use charge and Smash attacks in All-Star as your main attacks.

I'm just curious as to exactly what you're trying to unlock...? What is it that's making you go through all of that?

I'd heard that some of the unlock conditions were stupid, but I ignored alot of them, as I already got A: all the characters, and B: all the stages, and there isnt much else that at all matters gameplay-wise (not that I've seen anyway), particularly when playing online (where 90% of things cant be used anyway...). And I find the AI at any level to be kinda braindead so I got bored fighting it.

It sounds though like you need a break. I guarantee you, going into it angry *will* multiply your chances of losing. Why not just step away for awhile?

I WAS on easy, I only play on easy. If it wasn't for the stage hazards I might be able to tolerate it more, but of course they just had to be left on and Sakurai just had to remove the continue option.....
