It seems that after the announcement of Halo Legends, fanboys are bashing it all over the place. Why? It's an anime, and to them, anime means the same mainstream crap that pollutes the medium. How many problems can you count with this?

For me, it seems to be a good move. It seems to be a bit like the Animatrix, and that was pretty sweet. These are great studios working on it, so I have faith in them.

Mind you, I've yet to see the trailer so I can't really give an opinion on the trailer itself, but I think the backlash is mostly due to how a lot of companies are cashing in on the anime style, may it be TV shows trying to emulate anime (Teen Titans, Ben 10, The Boondocks, ect.) or companies getting an anime studio to do a anime based on a popular american property (Like last year's Batman:Gotham Knight, and the recently announced anime adaptations of Iron Man and Wolverine.). Its happening so much that it has now gotten to the point where these folks are getting burnt out on these movies getting that style of treatment. Personally, I'm more concerned if its well made or not, rather than if they get a Japanese studio to create the movie or going with a different style.

I am quite looking forward to it, I am a halo fan and I am an anime fan. The styles seem quite varied like what was used in the animatrix. Though you can't quite tell how it might turn out, this could be a good move, but a lot of people will criticise it becaue either it is different or because there have been some other ideas similar that have failed.

...I absolutely HATE Halo.
And I already saw the trailer on Youtube - sorry fanboys, but the anime looks 10 times better than the game EVER did.
In fact, it looks like it'll be the only good thing to ever come from the series other than Red vs. Blue.

I am a little worried, because almost always movies based on games are bad. Look at Resident Evil: Degeneration for example. It was 3D, it was even cannon! But it was still negatively received. Same thinkg is probarly going to happen with this Halo Anime, or the movie if/when it comes out.

I am not too happy saying that this would be one of the only good things the hero Master Chief (John 117) was made into a life size wax model for the Madame Tussauds colection. Well I have th 6 novels and a visual novel as well as being quite familiar with storyline not included in games/books. Yes I am a fan boy as I bought the helmit shaped case have a range of figures and I this is one of my biggest interests.

Well FF7 Advent Children was pretty sucesfull, strictly speaking all the, I think 10 Pokemon movies are based on games latest one recently earnt a guiness record for most preorders for the screening. Plus I could list down anime which are based on games that are fairly succesfull.

yeah, this looks pretty good, and for all of those thinking that the halo movie was cancelled it was postponed due to not having enough, or the needed props for it

Halo bores me. I see my friends there just trying to kill each other for no reason (I am not into multiplayers, much less when they make it look as if there's no story at all).

I might like a movie, but I will not try to see it unless there's nothing else to do.

Well their actualy is a very rich story, the humanside going back to people rebeling against the government that governs over all of the Human colonys. The government in a choice to lower death of soldeirs created super soldeirs by abducting "perfect" children and through a very interesting book you see how they become the perfect soldeirs with both brain and brawn. And for some reason a powerful alien group attacks human colonies who hold a long lost alien species as gods thatt moved into the next form of existance. Though they actualy killed themselves to stop a dangerous parasite from using them to spread over the universe.

The games do have some killing each other for no reason, though that is only one the types, there is everything from capture the flag, area controling, team games, racing, holding item to win and even a form of soccer, not to mention campain that can have cooperate. I have a fond memory where I played Griff ball (form of soccer) with some people online, or playing with some others online in teams and having some friendly talk back to how well each are doing. Sure the game is mostly about killing things, but what popular modern game isn't.

The anime part of Halo (like, the scene with the boy and the girl) seem kinda out of place in the Halo universe... (But then again, i don't play the game extensively so meh).

Believe me, you're not the only one who thinks so. Still, the games have decent enough gameplay and it probably would make a good anime. Even if master cheif is a nob. Abitor FTW
