Is anyone else going to be getting one of these? I'm extremely excited about getting one. I think it looks pretty cool and I'm hoping it handles as good as it looks. I'll likely get the WiFi version over the 3G one. I will probably also get the starter kit for it if there's anything decent enough in it and either the 8gb or 16gb memory card. Out the 22nd of February in the UK and I'm counting down every day

I think I will eventually though probably not right away. The truth is I barely ever used my PSP. The Vita looks like it will have some great games but I'm not sure it's worth the starting price.
I heard PSV games will have trophies this time. I like going after the platinum trophies so that's a feature I'm really looking forward too.

Sales have been poor in Japan. Sony will be forced to slash the price. If I get one it won't be until next Christmas when the price has been lowered.

The PSP didn't have many games that I really enjoyed on it. I don't hold out much hope for the Vita. That and the price for the memory cards are absolutely ridiculous. I mean. You can get a 32GB SD card for $30 and they're asking $120 for their proprietary memory. $30 only gets you 4GBs from Sony. What utter BS.

I was on board until the overpriced proprietary memory card thing. And now with the poor sales in Japan...I dunno.

Honestly, the game I most wanted to get was the Katamari one anyhow, and I seem to be getting back into Katamari Forever on Ps3, which makes it less of a priority.

There were quite a few for the PSP. Not a huge amount, but that was fine since I didn't use it much. I was turned off a lot of driving games and shooting games because the psp didn't have a second control stick thing (what are they called?). On top of that there were a few old games re-released for PSP that I picked up (Final Fantasy, FF Tactics, etc). Actually looking back at the 4 original PSP games that I do own, they were all very good. They include: Resistance Retribution, Syphon Filter Dark Mirror, Killzone Liberation and Crisis Core.

The PSV has already announced several games I'm interested in including another Resistance game, a new Uncharted game, Wipeout 2048, Gravity Rush and Silent Hill. If they continue to bring out good games I'll definitely be inclined to buy one.


I hadn't heard about the memory card prices.. Hopefully they will drop down significantly.

They already announced a (small) price drop on the memory cards due to backlash. With it currently not doing well in Japan, who knows?

Oh, other important thing to mention regarding the Vita: some games can only be played on the 3G model, which I think is a really, really stupid thing for Sony to do. Never ever fracture your user base if you can help it.

What's the reason for that? What's the other model and how is it different?

Wow that does seem stupid to have 3G version only games. I can't really see much difference between the WiFi and 3G. Well except the extra £50. And the memory card price is pretty ridiculous as people have mentioned. Hopefully the 16gb card will come down from £44.99 if sales have been bad then.

I had a couple of games on the psp. Only one that i remember is Crisis Core, which was great, but too short.

There are some games that use the background connection of the 3G model constantly for some reason or another. As for why Sony did that...*shrug.* There are two Vita models: one with 3G, and one without.

Other minor annoyances include the lack of Game Archive game support(PSOne digital titles, for example) at launch, lack of Flash, and there being a(varying) fee to transfer over your UMD PSP games.

Don't get me wrong, though: the hardware looks awesome, and the launch lineup beats the 3DS' launch lineup. But then, I only got the 3DS because I found a way to get the Ambassador program free games and the reduced price at the same time.
