Whom here has heard of this game? I don't own a PS3 yet, but I would love to try it if I ever get one. It looks gripping.

I actually just beat it today :)

It's an amazing game. The battle system might take some getting used to ( you mainly use familiars in a sort of cross between Pokemon and the Tales of series ) but it is a great game. Be prepared for a lot of EXP grinding and item farming, though...it is a JRPG after all. And if you get stuck, use IGN's wiki. It's especially helpful for the errands ( side quests ).
