Does anyone know this great Sonic game? It is a combo of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

I still have an original copy of the PC version. Is that what you're talking about?

It's my favourite game ever. The levels are so huge and difficult to understand! I can play it 500 times and still discover new tricks and alternate routes. And the music is so great!

No, Sega Genesis. I was also able to play a collection of the Sonic games on my old Playstation 2.

The game you're talking about was originally just an expansion of "Sonic 3", enabled by attaching it to the "Knuckles" cart's top section. I only played it a few times, preferring to see which areas of the second game I could reach with Knuckles.

Yes, that's it exactly.

Of course I do. It's an expansion of Sonic 3 with Sonic and Knuckles added in to expand the story. Not to mention you can turn into Hyper Sonic, Super Tails, and Hyper Knuckles if you decide to collect all of the Super Emeralds in the Sonic and Knuckles levels after collecting all of the Chaos Emeralds in the Sonic 3 levels.

This was my favorite when I was 12 and 13 and it made Sonic 3 more fun to play. It was as if they planned for the hook on combination just by the way the levels look in Sonic 3 Tails or Sonic cannot get to but the truth is, it was meant to be all in one game but because of time and the length, they split it so that is why there are two games that you hook together to have a better adventure. That is why the levels in Sonic 3 look all planned for Sonic and Knuckles because you see areas you cannot get to with Sonic or Tails. They were already planned and they had to split the game into two. I think I got that source on wikipedia.

I used to have the expansion pack that connected to the original Sonic 3 game. Lol You plop it on top of the Sonic 3 cartridge, you get to play as Knuckles. I remember begging my parents about this game when I was like 5. I never bet that game though. Video gaming was harsh back then. Lol
I did beat Sonic 1 though.

I can't believe I missed three years of playing this game. This game came out, I never rented it despite seeing it at Blockbuster or at another video store that shut down. Then finally when I was 12, my brother rented it telling me how Knuckles is better than Sonic and I saw it was like any other sonic game. I noticed the thing on top of the cartridge and I decided to put a game on top and then Sonic 3 and I discovered something and boy was I hooked and I wondered why didn't I rent this game before. I also remember the sphere game. Just press down A, B, and C and then push start all at the same time and then it allows you to play the game. I also remember Sonic 2 with Knuckles.

I remember unlocking Sonic 3 and Knuckles on Sonic Mega Collections Plus on my PS2. I became hooked instantly, exploring areas with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, and trying to collect all the emeralds in the game to make the game even more fun. I also remember playing Sonic 2 and Knuckles, which I like for almost the same reasons, though the only downside to that is trying to defeat the final boss, which can be hard to do when you play as Knuckles.
