Co-op first person shooters anyone?

So I was wondering how popular co-op fps like left 4 Dead 2 or Payday 2 or Borderlands 2 are around here. I play Payday 2 on Steam a lot, mostly offline but sometimes online too.

I played Borderlands 2 with some random dolts and i absolutely hated it and I have played Left 4 Dead 2 with random pillocks and i despised it.

I don't blame you for that in those games. I just played a couple heists with random people on Payday 2 and for the most part it went pretty good. I think most co-op shooters have problems with bad random players and the occasional cheaters too.

DOOM was the ultimate coop B) Quake was alright, but DOOM always seemed a bit more hectic (in a good way).

Sven Coop for HL was pretty cool, too. We played that a lot, around the time before HL2 came out (which I don't think ever saw the promised Sven Coop 2).

We played a lot of Hexen coop back on the N64, but that game's kind of weird, lots of "let's just wander aimlessly and hit switches until something happens".

I played Payday 2 a lot, and all I can say is definitely play online, the single player pales in comparison to the online game, and you'll level infinitely faster as well. Just try running Hoxton Breakout a few times with other players on overkill rather than soloing it, and you'll see what I mean. I only play offline for stealth heists and certain achievements anymore, and even then it's usually more fun with others, even PUGs. Just having someone to help run the bags can be a game changer, to say nothing of running Death Wish loud maps with a crew full of inspires.

Lol, I once tried playing Half Life: Decay on the PS2 on my own, taking the roles of both characters. It wasn't a lot of fun...

Lost many hours of my youth to Duke Nukem 3D Co-Op....
