I literally jumped of my chair when I heard that he was talking about this.
With FF VII remake, The Last Guardian, No Man's Sky and Horizon: Zero Dawn Sony just blew my mind away.

The game is meant to be contemplative, which is quite different from what we usually see in video games.

It still looks boring even by that definition.

If I want a contemplative game, I'd play one of the Simcitys, Cities: Skylines, Fire Emblem games, Advance Wars games, Captain Toad, etc...

Or I could just play Chess or one of the many board games I have that require thinking to win.

Initially it was, then the game completely disappeared right after being revealed and returned now as a PS4 title.

It's like if Shadow of the Colossus and Ico had a baby, and I'm amazed by this. If it's as original, creative, beautiful and fun as the first two titles we have an epic game coming.

I definitely don't see the hype behind this one. After that trailer, I'm not interested at all.

Yeah... this developer's games ALWAYS are like this (and they take a million billion years to release, too). I had only heard of the game before, but knew of the developer, so I had an idea as to what style I'd see when I looked at the trailer, and.... yeah. Add me to the "I dont get the appeal" team.

Their previous games were all like this too. People go on and on about how amazing Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are, but I see them, and.... uuuuugh. Dull. They always look like games where the focus is on everything BUT the gameplay.

I loved Shadow of the Colossus. It is to this day one of the best games I've ever played. I want this game to be good too, but after years of development and after seeing this I can't say I expect much.

At best I expect this game to be more like Ico; thin gameplay with a very pretty aesthetic, with a well developed relationship between two characters realised through excellent animation that will end up manipulating your emotions by making you feel for them, then killing one off at the end. I'll probably still buy it, and I'll probably still enjoy it. But I'm not expecting something as significant as Shadow of the Colossus.
