I haven't watched the video yet, no flash on the Linux box I am on but if the graphics are the same I don't see the point. You can play Final Fantasy IX on ePSXe fine on PC, it needs to have some kinda features the original didn't have or else I don't see a point in rebuying.

Because Square doesn't make any money if they tell you "just download it and play it in an emulator" ;)

Am I the only one that's really tired of Square re-releasing these games over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over with a fresh coat of paint?

I remember a time, way back when, when Square used to DO stuff. When they made things, things that actually were interesting, games that werent just trying to be movies with an RPG minigame tacked on, and games that werent just remakes.

Sadly, those times ended long ago. With a sad little fart sound.

Purely convenience. And it's the closest thing you can get to playing a legitimate version of the game when Torrenting isn't your thing.

Piracy isn't a victimless crime, after all. 8)

I don't know that you got your point across here Misery :D

At the risk of Kuraudo777 hunting me down like Jason Bourne, I find Final Fantasy overrated. They aren't bad games and I try to get into them but they are overrated in the sense that Final Fantasy is like the best thing since sliced bread to everyone. I like Final Fantasy but it doesn't merit a million different versions.

Did you know you can play the Final Fantasy IX disc in your PC without piracy.

Nothing I said SabbraCadabra and Scaevitas condones piracy. I have done it before but I did not imply that I play Final Fantasy illegally. The only copy I have illegally is some version that came on the memory stick of my used PSP, I want to say it was IX but I have the original disc too.

I was purely being facetious.

That's true, I forgot about that.

I'm sure Square would prefer you to buy a whole new copy, though ;)

Square would prefer you to buy a whole new copy in a 20-part installment, these days. With special editions and day-1 DLC. Like horse armor.

It's pathetic. I mean, really, what they're doing with FF 7...

They've fallen pretty damn far.

At this point, if FF 9 here is just a full, intact game when brought to PC... everyone can consider themselves lucky at this point. Because chances are, SOMEONE at Square tried to think of a way to sell it otherwise.
