I feel that it's better than Sim City. And I've been wanting to get it. But I'd need to buy a new laptop first. I'm not even going to try to upgrade the one i have now. It's like 6-7 years old.

So...if anyone has that game...what laptop do you recommend? I'm looking in the price range: $500-800 dollars. And I'd need a laptop 17in screen and one that has the side keypad on it.

My late 2011 Macbook Pro with iCore 7 CPU, 512MB dedicated graphics card 16GBs of RAM runs the game as intended though with medium graphics.

This game needs a minimum of Intel Iris in order to run smoothly on medium settings.
All other Intel graphics cards struggle to run this game on the lowest setting, according to the developer.

As of now Apple is the only major OEM using Iris and Intel Iris Pro Cards.
This means you are looking at a minimum $1299 Macbook Pro.

Though if you want a Windows Laptop, you are looking at $1600 - $2000 to get a Windows Laptop with a dedicated graphic cards.
The Major Windows OEMs haven't jumped on Iris and Iris pro due to how much it costs.

This is due to the majority of PC buyers wanted sub $500 computers.

Though Xbox One is getting the game or you could be a Steam box for the price range (You can install Windows on it).

I have it. And yes, it's better than Simcity. Though, to be fair, with the absolute freaking corporate-blasted disaster that Simcity 2013 is.... that's not even remotely hard to do. That game really is awful and has likely ended that series entirely.

But Skylines is pretty good, they really put a ton of effort into it. Granted, my own favorite "city builder" sort of game now will probably always be Anno (2070 that is, as the new one, 2205, is just as much of a travesty as Simcity 2013 is) and I cant see anything beating that one anytime remotely soon, but still.... Skylines is pretty damn good. That developer, they know what they're doing.

And it's entertaining as heck to see them go "you know what, EA? All that stuff you said Simcity couldnt do for technical reasons? WE'RE DOING MOST OF IT. With giant maps."

And you can even just make maps, too. No needing to BUY the damn things from a greedy publisher or something. Though, I do wish they had actual random map generation as an option too.

I wrote a long post but I accidentally deleted it. Anyways, the above laptop will do you good. $899. GTX 950M. Nobody else is going to match Sager at this pricepoint.

It's a simulator, so CPU threads and RAM are your priority. The graphics aren't that great in Cities, but you can mod seven bells out of it like Skyrim.

6GB wasn't enough RAM for somebody else I played with - I have 16GB and it runs fine until you hit about 150k-200k citizens.

When I reached about 210k citizens I got stuck in a downward spiral of dependent workforce segments and it became unplayable - still ran fine with the graphics down slightly, though I'm playing on a very high spec system.
